Congratulations to the band White Rabbits for claiming the top spot on my Must List this week with the video for their new song ”Percussion Gun.” It’s the first single from the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Missouri band’s sophomore album, It’s Frightening, which was produced by Spoon’s Britt Daniels and drops next Tuesday. The simple video suits the song’s driving beat and urgent vocals, and I’ve played it, like, 15 times in the past week and a half. I can’t remember the last video I watched so many times that didn’t have a Britney-level budget/production value. And I didn’t even know until last week that drummer/former EW freelancer Jamie Levinson used to sit one cubicle row away from me at E-dubs HQ. Thanks, White Rabbits, for giving me the second song on my official summer playlist.
Check out the video for yourself below, watch the most recent Must List Live, then share your own picks with us. List up to three items from current TV/movies/music/books/games/online. Don’t forget your e-mail address, in case we decide to use your submission in the magazine. Deadline is Thursday, May 14 at noon ET.

Kris Allen’s “Heartless” on American Idol. No matter what his future is on the show, he gave a creative and relevant performance that could either end his season on a high note or push him straight into the finale WITHOUT help from the judges!
My Must List
Kris Allen from American Idol
Karl Urban as Bones McCoy in Star Trek
Lost
Fringe season finale (watching it again and again)
LOST season five finale (here’s hoping is all it can be!)
The NBA playoffs (and rooting for the underdogs-Houston, Dallas, Orlando!)
Thanks for this! The White Rabbits are playing at Bonnaroo this year and were one of many bands I didn’t know much about–but based on this clip, I just might give them a shot!
-Cobra Starship (feat. Leighton Meeser) singing “Good Girls Go Bad”- It’s the perfect summer song that makes you want to get up and shake your booty on the dance floor…then go home and watch your “Gossip Girl” DVDs.
-”Lipstick Jungle Season Two” on DVD- The show was near-unwatchable in its first season but blossomed into a fantastic character-driven soap in its second, abreviated season. Victory Ford, I think I’ll miss you the most.
-”That’s A Deal Breaker, Ladies!” on “30 Rock.” Because I love Jenna and now have something to tell Jane Krakowski when I meet her…in my dreams.
Well my #1 thing is UK tv show: “Shameless” on sundance channel.
My number #2 thing is UK tv show: “Shameless” on sundance.
And my #3 thing is UK TV SHOW “SHAMELESS” on sundance.
It is so outrageous, you will be laughing so hard through out the entire hour you’ll stomach will hurt for days.
Sunday nights at 9pm.
Green Day 21st Century Breakdown- The pop punk icons continue to step their game up and grow their sound up at the same time. Who said rock operas were dead?
The Brothers Bloom- Just watch the trailer. It looks hilarious, entertaining, and endearing. Inevitable Wes Anderson comparisons start…NOW!
Festival music- Sure it started a few weeks ago in the hot hot heat at Coachella, but festival season is about to really kick off, I’m excited to be outdoors, full of sound, and sans earbuds.
Young, small-town southern male business majors born in the fourth week of June who compete on reality shows in the winter of ’09.
Logic says neither Kris on American Idol nor JT on Survivor should’ve made it very far in their respective shows – Kris because he’s the definition of overshadowed underdog, and JT because he’s carried the biggest target on his back ever since his tribe was outnumbered 6-3. For the longest time, I pictured both of my favs being voted out on the same week – yet here they are, still standing with a more than decent shot at the finale.
NOT on my list: Arrogant, 30-something midwestern reality-show contestants who have been dubbed “he who must not be named” on countless blogs and message boards. With any luck, both AI’s Danny and Survivor’s Coach will be gone by the end of this week.
– “Wendy and Lucy” on DVD – Kelly Reichardt’s follow-up to 2006′s “Old Joy”, starring a deglamorized Michelle Williams, is, at 80 minutes, a short one, but it stays with you long after the credits roll.
– The score to “Star Trek”, by Michael Giacchino – The LOST maestro has done it again. Who didn’t have the rousing theme stuck in their head after leaving the theaters?
– “The Princess and the Frog” trailer – Disney returns to 2D animation in the fall with this retelling of ‘The Frog Princess’; it’s the studio’s first film to feature an African-American in the lead role. http://www.apple.com/trailers/disney/princessandthefrog/
1. Party Down Renewal- If haven’t been spending your Friday night’s watching Starz congrats, you have more of a life than me and you have a treat in your cable box…check your On Demand for good laugh.
2. Fringe Season Finale- one of the most dynamic and well written episodes of any show this year. ((Mystery of Stephen King + the science of Michael Crichton) X JJ Abrams Hand of God)= Best New Show on TV.
Kris Allen on American Idol. Week after week, he’s been overlooked in the press and talked down on the show. Yet, he’s made it further than either press or judges said he would – like a truly talented artist should.
Has anyone else heard of the Anonymous Production Assistant’s Blog? Hilarious! This is the way Hollywood really is. htto://anonymousassistant.wordpress.com
1) American Idol: Adam & Kris finale!
2) The Daily Show & The Colbert Report: Stewart & Colbert make the world a better & funnier place.
3) Zachary Quinto as Spock: Awesome.
This trailer for a “film” called “After Last Season” is hysterical in the worst way possible…
