A little piece of me died this morning when I read the Variety headline NBC passing on ‘Legally Mad.’ Not because I’m the world’s biggest Kristin Chenoweth fan, but because I wanted to see if David E. Kelley’s scripts would be even crazier when he had the word mad right there in the title. God I miss Boston Legal….But then I read further, and saw that "insiders" told the trade that Lauren Graham’s ABC comedy "is believed to be dead" after the pilot, which cast the Gilmore Girls alum as a self-help guru obsessed with her ex-boyfriend, reportedly screened to crickets. If true, this is the passing that would hurt me the most. Or at least as much as if CBS doesn’t pick up either the medical drama starring Alex O’Loughlin or the medical drama starring Jeremy Northam.
What’s your worst-case scenario? For a refresher on what the networks have cooking, click here for PopWatch’s pilot season coverage and check out Michael Ausiello’s bubble show cheat sheet. (I just realized how much I’m pulling for The CW’s Vampire Diaries to not suck.)

I heard that if NBC passed on Legally Mad, then they were going to pick up Chuck. Apparently Legally Mad and Chuck were both owned by WB and the WB was going to charge NBC $2 million if they passed on Mad so NBC was trying to get a deal to not have to pay if they picked up Chuck for a third season. So I’m taking this all as good news!!!
I need Alex’s show to be picked up. I will be so upset if it’s not. Come on, CBS! Give us our Alex!
Which pilot passing will hurt me the most? None of them! Fewer pilot pick-ups means more renewals of shows I already watch.
Lauren saddens me more, by a huge margin. I’m over “WACKY” David E. Kelley. Can he write a show anymore without being too wacky, preachy, or Emmy-baity? Lauren Graham had a great run on GG and I hoped it would lead to a lot of great offers immediately. She tried Broadway, but apparently it was a bad version of Guys & Dolls with a badly miscast Oliver Platt. Someone needs to find/write another great project for her talents.
I’d hate to think that Gilmore Girls is it for Lauren G. She’s so talented, but her record for being on quickly cancelled shows seems to be back. And I do miss Kelly, too.
Actually, the one I was hoping to see the most was No Heroics – it had a great cast, including my fave Tom Riley, but I don’t think it is getting picked up. I think it would be great if they shopped it to cable and were able to put some of the raunchy humor back in from the Brit version. It pains me even more that something called “Cougar Town” does get picked up. Sigh.
Miami Trauma with Jeremy Northam.
I was looking forward to seeing Lauren Graham on TV again. Sad…
Has anyone considered screening pilots online (on a Hulu type site) so that a larger audience can decide on what shows they’d like to watch?
I will scream if Alex’s new show, Three Rivers, isn’t picked up. I must have my weekly Alex fix.
I would be totally fed up with CBS if they passed on “Three Rivers”. We’ve waited for over a year now for him to get a new show. Even though he was brilliant guesting on “Criminal Minds”, it’s just not enough for him or his fans. We need to see more Alex!
I’d rather see Chuck and Terminator (albeit in a shortened more action packed way) return.
I lost New Amsterdam, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Kings, Shark, Dirty Sexy Money (no huge loss there), and Life on Mars all in one year’s time. This year sucked. I really loved all those.
For pilot’s “Lost & Found, “Back”, “Washington Field”, “Human Target”, and “Masterwork” sound good. Who cares though. They won’t get a decent chance. May watch “Off Duty” though I’m not really a sitcom person.
I’d like to see the NCIS spinoff move forward!
Oh Flash Forward and V could be good
The CBS has to choose Three Rivers. This is what Alex O’Loughlin deserves, after having cancelled Moonlight unjustly. His fans we are tired of waiting to see him again in television.Alex is an actor with big talent and a proper spectacle is deserved.
Alex O`Loughlin is a great actor!!!!
I would be totally fed up with CBS if they passed on “Three Rivers”.We need to see more Alex!
