Kate Gosselin on 'Today Show': 'Hesistant to believe' infidelity rumors

Kate Gosselin was on the Today Show this morning, and she told Meredith Viera that she didn’t think her family would "lay it out there" on the upcoming season of their reality show. "I’m very hesitant to believe any of [the accusations of infidelity],"Gosselin says in the interview. "We’re dealing with it privately,"which she admits is ironic, and she makes it sound like there’s no planto stop doing the show (fifth season! coming up!), even if the rumorspersist.

Given that J&K+8 has, in a lot of ways, turned into a show about having a show, I’m outrageously curious about this upcoming season. What about you, PopWatchers?

Are people really so dumb to think any of this talk is real? The reason this is happening is because people love to see a train wreck. Just look at the last episode last year. It was the highest rated J&k+8 ever, solely because TLC marketed it as the family falling apart. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Listen, only a handful of people want to see this family fall apart. Most of us started watching the show because the kids are so cute and the parents were so young and overwhelmed. I’d imagined what I would do with so many kids–and couldn’t help but admire Kate’s organizational skills and Jon’s good natured support. But then, for every dictator that has the trains run on time, the people will rebell. (italian wwii reference-see mussolini)Kate started being outright mean, rather than strong. Jon seemed to wimp out rather than be supportive. And for the audience, it’s like watching a close neighbor go through a marital “bad patch”. You know it’s none of your business, but they’re so much like you…

I think the fact that she said “I am hesitant to believe….” is extremely telling…Where there is smoke, there has got to be at least a little bit of a fire. And she is certainly not coming right out and saying that the rumors are LIES and as we read yesterday on EW, she is certainly not coming right out and supporting her husband.

I think there’s a very rocky road ahead for this couple and their children could suffer. So I really think the Gosselins should take a 1 year hiatus from the show, let things die down, let the paparazzi and the people outside their home fade away, work on their family and marriage. Then in a year or two, they can do a “where are they now” special. This show does not have be a weekly show every year. Maybe once a year TLC should do a 2 hour special or something. They need to work on being a family FIRST, and being celebrities later.

So she’s dealing with it privately y having a reality show, plus appearing on every other talk-show? Rightttttttt

She is strong no matter what for going on live, but there is no way Jon is getting out of this. Staying together for the kids. Can’t wait to hear what Maddie has to say about this.

    She needs a new hairdo.

If you’re dealing with it privately then why are you on National TV talking about it??? GO AWAY!

Skip is an idiot. People are talking about it because it’s disgusting — I don’t know anyone who wants to see them break up. Go off the air? Yeah, sure, I’m sick of this whiny brood, but I don’t want to see a train wreck.

What really scares me is that righteous streak in Kate. Will she keep the show going, just to show how she’s been wronged? To hold Jon up for contempt? To show the world what a great mother she is despite her husband’s “bad judgement”? I hope someone near her helps her temper that. I know how it feels to be caught up in the moment of high emotion, but I don’t think she wants to ruin her family over it. If the family needs to drop out of the public eye for the sake of the marriage and family, she needs to let it go. The kids don’t need to be taunted in school that their dad is cheating on their mom. She needs to be smart, rather than right, about this.

Kate’s book tour was planned months ago, and she’s contractually obligated to continue it, regardless of what pops up in the tabloids. It was Jon’s poor timing to go out until 2 am with another woman that’s led to this mess. And they’re in the middle of filming the next season (which starts later this month), so they certainly won’t be fading from the public eye anytime soon.

It is surprising that any mother, in this situation, would like to then have cameras record her family dealing with it. Then again, this is Kate. If Jon did cheat, he is in the wrong, but he is a verbally abused husband. Any man saying to a woman the things she has said to him would’ve been burned at the stake. I’ve watched the show here and there and feel like there is a reason people don’t have 6 at a time naturally. Even if they were perfect parents, there is no way all 8 of those kids is getting the attention they need (from their parents anyway- maybe a nanny). With all the challenges of having such a large family, now this, one of the “adults” needs to say enough is enough with the cameras.

Let’s all be grateful that the show has finally jumped the shark, and it should in all likelyhood be in its last season.
This is a slow moving car crash and it should be allowed to be totaled and put away. At least there is the Hayes family, which I find to have the intimacy and genuineness that the latter-day J&K fully lack.
Jon, save yourself and the kids, stick up to your Hollywood wife and tell her that this is the last season.

Has Kate ever watched any of their shows? She is incredibly rude to Jon. Berates him for interrupting her even though she has interrupted him countless times. Corrects his grammer while she, herself, has used the unknown word “dirtilies”, along with other words I’ve never seen in a dictionary. One show, she asked him why he rambles on and on, while in another she asks him if he’s going to say anything at all!
Kate should be happy she has a husband that puts up with her. If I were her, I would bend over backwards to make Jon happy. He seems like an excellent, loving father. She needs an anger management intervention. The “coupon” episode had me feeling embarrassed for Jon. Sadly, I think Mady is just like her and I think Hannah will be, too.
Wake up and watch your show, Kate! You’ll see just how mean you are to your husband. Shame on you.
