I don’t know about you, PopWatchers, but I found last night’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice to be infuriating. It was nice to see the teams shaken up (Joan, Natalie, and Khloe were sent to KOTU, and Jesse and Brian were sent to Athena), but the arbitrary board room results made me resent the fact that I had just spent two hours watching the show. Really — why make us invest time in watching the celebs complete their task when their performances aren’t going to have anything to do with who gets fired?
This week, the teams had to write, produce, and edit a viral video for All Small & Mighty 3x concentrated laundry detergent. Inexplicably, both teams interpreted ‘’small and mighty” to mean ”midgets.” Athena’s ”Jesse James gets washed by midgets” sounded awful in concept but turned out really funny, and KOTU’s ”Laundry innuendo” sounded funny in concept but turned out really creepy and weird.

While the Athena video was clearly funnier and approximately 150 percent less creepy than KOTU’s (even Perez Hilton agreed), the All execs nixed both ideas and Trump sent both teams to the board room. Melissa, proud of the way her team performed, figured she’d be eliminated because no one really messed up, and solicited volunteers to accompany her to the board room. Timid Tionne stepped forward, which ultimately backfired when Trump fired her for volunteering. Unfair? Sure. But she could’ve done her homework before going on the show and found out that Trump hates when people volunteer for the board room. As aggravating as it was to see her go, the second elimination was even more exasperating.
The whole episode centered around the idea that project managerClint commandeered the entire KOTU video — came up with the idea,directed it, edited it, and wouldn’t listen to his teammates when theytold him it was nonsensical and strange — so when he arbitrarilypicked Khloe and Natalie to accompany him to the board room and Trumpdidn’t spend one second questioning him about the shambles of a viralvideo he made, I knew one of the ladies was in trouble. And when Trumpstarted lecturing Khloe about the DUI that everyone with an Internetconnection already knew about, I knew her number was up.
Khloe got a DUI, spent time in jail, and is taking court-orderedalcohol education classes. Sure, she seemed a little cavalier aboutwhat happened, but after watching a marathon a couple of episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians,I’m pretty sure she’s cavalier about absolutely everything (and I kindof love her for it). Clearly the producers on the show knew about theDUI (that happened more than a year ago), so the fact that Trump didn’tknow about it until Khloe mentioned it was pretty puzzling. I canunderstand having such an emotional reaction after learning thatsomeone you know did something so reckless and irresponsible. We allknow reality shows aren’t always judged entirely on merit and fairness,but really — what else was this girl supposed to do? She served hertime, apologized, and seems intent on never doing something so stupidagain.
Were you shocked by the double elimination? I wasn’t surprised that it happened, but I was surprisedthat Clint didn’t go. Who do you think should have gone from each teaminstead? Did Clint’s behavior bother you? Did you like Joan’simpromptou QVC ad? And whose video did you like more?

I was stunned as well. I was saying out loud to no one that there’s no way in heck “the Donald” didn’t know prior to inviting Chloe about her DUI, while not condoning it, it applied to LAST week, he didn’t want to get rid of Clint and didn’t want to fire the Melissa/Joan team, can’t stand either of those ladies and joan said herself that 1 of her reasons for doing this show was to do it with Melissa, it was a joke last night from start to finish, can’t watch next week, i’ll just read the little recap
Trump made decisions based on drama. He fired T for drama Sunday night and kept Clint for more Joan River’s fireworks next week.

Why bother having tasks if you aren’t held accountable for them?!

I want to know why Trump could give his Ms USA contestant “Tara” a 2nd chance when she did cocaine yet couldn’t give Khloe a 2nd chance when she clearly was trying to clean things up?

I think is decision making abilities have been in question for a long time. Basically one thing can be counted on, Trump will do whatever needs to be done so that Trump will make more money. Firing the two most quiet and boring characters on the show makes sense if you consider this.
I think W. Mark is correct, they need to make sure there are some conflicts next week on KOTU…and keeping Clint and Joan together will assure that. I have to comment that Jesse James is my favorite, he is easy going, he works hard and he doesn’t speak much, but when he does he makes sense. Go Jesse.
Talk about being a hypocrite — not only did he give Miss USA another chance, how about TRUMP VODKA and TRUMP BAR in New York City.He’s anti alcohol — except he puts his name on it.
I can’t believe how Trump was so angry with Chloe for something that happened a year ago, but he was merely amused last week at Dennis Rodman’s drinking antics-and that happened on the show. He doesn’t think that Dennis never drinks and drives? What an idiot.
So frustrating with those eliminations. I stopped watching the Apprentice after the third season because of these type of firings. Omarosa brought me back in last year and I’m starting to realize that nothing has really changed since then.
Episodes like this, will FINALLY kill this already low-rated show. Trump is getting too preachy about the booze. C. Black obviously should have gone, and M. Rivers, as well. Those country music awards probably boosted the ratings on this show – for the week, anyway. Finally, Trump’s children don’t speak up enough, but it’s obvious why. I may not stick with it this season, and I’ve seen every one of them. Pull the plug.
This show is ridiculous — why do any of these so-called “celebrities” care whether they’re “fired” or not? They aren’t looking for a job with Trump! And the money being won for their charities is chump change when it comes to celebrity donations. It’s all just an excuse to spend two hours watching semi-famous people behaving badly (thus the firing of two wall flowers who added nothing to the fireworks). I used to like The Apprentice (when it was really an extended “job interview”). Now it’s just absurd and embarrasing. But I’ll be honest — anyone who lists their avocation as a “reality show star” deserves to be embarrassed (and fired!). So who cares?
I think that Khloe should have been fired… but not over a year-old DUI. She (like Tionne) has been invisible throughout the season thusfar, and she has added almost nothing to her team.
I had stopped watching Trump a few years ago because it had outworn it’s newness but like all reality shows, it appears to be fixed. There is no reason that Clint shouldn’t have gone home other than Trump likes him. He didn’t call him on any of the things he did or how he handled the team. I used to think that Clint Black was a really good guy but after this show I see him as a REALLY short Napoleon complexed man. He is not a team player and brings nothing to the table except for his quest for the most air time. I’m not watching again because it’s all fixed so why get invested.
Finally! Something like a recap! re: Khloe: people get fired for DUIs all the time. I didn’t find that too unbelievable. I liked the way that Melissa (who I usually dislike) defended her Mom. Tionne’s firing was predictable, because Trump fires anyone who volunteers to be fired.
WE’RE DONE!!!!! What a waste of time watching 2 hours of drivel on April 5th and then having The Donald fire two people for totally arbitrary reasons unrelated to performance on the task. This show gets worse and worse and we’ll now spend our Sunday evenings doing something more productive like ‘watching paint dry’.
Ugh! Khloe was probably the least productive member on the team each week, but that was a BS reason to fire her. I was sort of hoping he’d fire Princess Attitude (Natalie), but it was sort of apparent that wouldn’t happen. “Clint, you have concerts to get back to, right? Natalie, you have a big golf thing you’d like to attend? Khloe, you have… um…”
I am in All’s target demo, and I use All. However, those execs were complete idiots, and devoid of personality to boot. OK, they want a viral video. COMPLETELY IGNORING that the harder you try to make something viral, the LESS likely it will BE viral… especially since it’s a commercial… and since they’re basically stereotyping their target demo as humourless shrews, it’s damned from the outset. “Make a viral commercial, but strip it of anything viral.” REALLY? I mean, seriously – I’m 27, female, in their target demo, and if that’s what All thinks of me as a consumer, maybe I’ll be buying something else.
WHAT A WASTE OF TWO HOURS! I am now convinced the show is rigged. OK to put on Rodman and his alchol-related antics, but The Donald showed his Trump hand last night — the show is fixed! Clint Black needs to stuff his black hat in his mouth and listen a little!
I thought Clint’s initial premise was cute. Married couple with kids, referring to it as “the wash” so their kids don’t catch on.
However, he executed it really terribly. Changing “the wash” to “dirty laundry” didn’t work. “The wash” works because it’s innocuous, “dirty laundry” is less so. Also, what would’ve been the point of using “dirty laundry” as a cover story if there were no kids around?
I’m telling you, man. Stick with “the wash”. Use a more normal looking wife. Add some kids. Have the dad walk in with a bottle of All and a big smile, and talk about how much he loves doing “the wash”. Mom grabs the bottle, rolls her eyes and smiles, says they’ll do “the wash” after the kids go to bed. Shorts of doing dishes, bathing kids, getting them into bed. Mom in bed looking tired, dad comes in, mom asks if they can do “the wash” tomorrow, dad says his line.
Clint, someone should smack you for the book and kleenex. Mostly the book.
I agree what a waste of two hours. Khloe’s DUI has nothing to do with the show and she’s been to court admitted she made a mistake and is making amends. I thought Donald was in to second chances isn’t that what he said about Miss America and rehab. Clint Black needed to be fired I guess Donald was looking to get rid of some of the women. Well it work because I’m gone. I’m firing myself from having to watch it anymore.
That was the biggest waste of two hours I’ve ever seen. Why bother having tasks if Trump already knows who he wants to fire from teh get-go? Khloe’s DUI was just an excuse to keep Clint on for THE DRAMA. Meanwhile, Dennis Rodman chugs down alcohol for episode after episode with no consequences until there was no choice but to fire him. Unfortunately for Khloe she’s (1) not a sports star and (2)female, so Trump isn’t willing to give her the benefit of a doubt.
This program has become strange on sooo many levels. I also have difficulty understanding the ending of this 2 hour testimony to Trump’s power! It should be more evident to the competitors that Trump has his favorites and they are well protected since he makes all the decisions. I understand how fathers want their children involved in the family business but please!! It seemed that Ivanka was as shocked as anyone but could never express her own opinion about it. Can no longer watch this foolishness!!
I don’t usually care what happen’s but I though last night’s result’s were pure bull crap. I thought since the ad people didn’t like what was done Trump should have picked the winner which by far should have been Athena. That team worked well together and showed unity and no one on that team should have been fired because of performance. On the other hand I thought Kotu’s/Clint Blacks sick thought’s were the most disgusting thing and shouldn’t have been aired. Now we know where Clint’s mind is in the gutter and women are second class to him. Trump finding Rodman’s drunken stupidity on the show funny and firing a women for something that happened long ago shows he thinks women are second class also. Khloe should never have been fired for something that had nothing to do with the show is unforgivable and I will not watch this show again. Trump should do the right thing and apologize to Khloe for his comments which should have been done in private. Will not watch this show again.
After being a faithful watcher for many seasons, I boycotted the show after the Rosy/Donald feud. Last night I tuned in for the first time since then and had a front row seat at the reason I stopped watching in the first place—the Donald being arrogant and self-righteous as if he invented morals. I’m so over this show.
I’ve watched the show every season… TRUMP, you made a huge mistake with your fans. I don’t know if you’re trying to hammer down the “I can do whatever I want because my name is Donald Trump” thing but it left entertainment last night and went into shameful. I wasted my time watching this episode. Who cares who/how/when they made this video? I will NEVER watch this show again.

Khloe’s DUI should have never been mentioned. It had nothing to do with the show. She just happen to give him a truthful excuse for her absence and he used it against her. Client shoud have been the one to go. Had she gotten drunk during the task like Dennis did then I could understand it. For whatever reason he wanted to keep Client (out numbered by too many women). It was not right. I won’t watch the show again.
I fell asleep last night before the board room. What a shock to find Clint still present.

If you fell asleep then you missed how petty and cruel Trump was firing Chloe, basically telling her the only reason he was firing her was because she had a DUI and he sits in judgement! Wow, that was beyond harsh.
