Tonight's 'Dancing with the Stars': Discuss!

Dwts_judgescarrie_lUPDATE: Today’s TV Watch is up!

What up, DANCMSTRs? Someone’s going home, but I don’t want to be the worst person on the Internet ever and type out who that is. You know who it is. Share your thoughts about tonight’s elimination episode in the comments below.

***BIG NEWS!*** Carrie Ann Inaba — the ”Weepy” component of Dancing with the Stars‘ esteemed judging triumvirate of Weepy, Cranky, and Dopey (pictured) — will be blogging for EW.com! Her first post will be up on PopWatch tomorrow. (UPDATE: Here it is.) Carrie Ann, who also runs the unofficial Illegal Lift Brigade of the L.A.P.D., joins Jeff Probst, Phil Keoghan, and Chris Harrison on EW’s roster of reality TV guest bloggers. Carrie Ann’s probably the most controversial judge on the panel, but she’s also the most honest and constructive. Not to mention, her flailing arm gestures consistently exhibit more "beautiful lines" than Bruno’s. I’m so psyched to have Carrie Ann here that I’ve started practicing her signature "Woooooooooo!" at my desk. (I don’t want to know what she’d say about my lines.)

The castoff’s name is after the jump. Did the right person go home tonight? Type!

What is wrong with this country – at least Belinda tried! Either of the two Steves should have been out the door. Very disappointing!

Yes, the right person went home tonight! Much respect to the season’s first loser for the fabulous career, but I would so much rather watch Woz. Soooo much more entertaining. Although I hope he doesn’t add himself to the disturbingly lengthening list of celebrities damaging themselves in the pursuit of a disco ball trophy and a possible career reboot. (Insert some joke about Woz and “rebooting” here.)
Interesting about Carrie Ann. Will she explain the mysterious early retirement of the SUPER MEGA SPARKLE PADDLES? They were back to the old red-and-gently-glittering-gold ones tonight. And Bruno’s solid red paddle. Anyways, I had enjoyed the sparkly assault on my eyes – it was yet another way this show proved to me that it totally CAN get more ridiculous than I think it can. :)

The right person went home but the dance-off between the bottom 2 is really ridiculous. Their scores should not be changed from performance night. Who wants to see the bottom 2 perform again anyway?

  • Pedro

There’s no way Belinda Carlisle was the worst dancer. No way.

  • Cardsgal

And did we all notice in the backstage clip of Steve W./Karina that as Steve was telling Karina that she’d helped him discover this passion, she had her head down and a look of disgust on her face. Has there ever been a worse sport? She is the antithesis of class and grace, and a loathesome trollop.

Steve Woz was definitely worse than Belinda, but it’s the same old story every season. 50% of the voting comes from viewers and obviously Woz has more fans than Belinda. Those with the bigger fan base always stick around longer. Look at Marie Osmond a few seasons back. She was in the top 3! Her fans kept her alive long after she should have been gone. I just wish Denise Richards would get the boot. She has no charisma, and her personality is about as interesting as a cardboard box. Not to mention she’s not that great of a dancer. I can’t imagine she has a big fan base so hopefully she’ll be next!

WOZ RULES!!!!! If you don’t think so, then you are an idiot.

Aw, Belinda should have lasted longer. Oh well, I can remove DWTS from my TIVO…never to return!

  • Andrew

Belinda wasn’t great by any means, but she wasn’t the worst dancer. Bottom four? Probably. Worst? Not by a long shot. Woz lumbers around the dance floor and looks ridiculous in the process. It’s entertaining, but it’s not quality.

I was actually very happy with the results tonight. I think I still have prejudice against Jonathan for the Marie Osmond debacle — and honestly, his choreography is slow, boring, and creepy (that handstand??) Though I’m a Go-Go’s fan, Belinda was stiff and plastic — I won’t miss her on the show. I do really want to see what both Woz and Steve-O bring next week. Belinda can’t duplicate that intrigue.
Dance-Off, while irrelevant tonight, may add definite suspense in weeks to come!

I really thought Steve would be the one to go. Belinda wasn’t that big of a shocker, because she seemed clumsy, awkward and not at all entertaining to watch. I think the whole dance-off thing is kind of silly. Like these two were really going to wow the judges with a second performance of a lousy dance? The judges copped out anyway by giving them both the same score. Maybe at some point down the road it will make sense, but it just seemed painful to watch.

I never watch the results show. So I rely on Annie for her sparkling wit and commentary and save myself an hour. I thought Woz was the worst, but he is having a blast, so I guess he was rewarded for his enthusiasm. Fine with Belinda going home tonight. Her dance on Monday was painful to watch.

  • Shel

Well, I’m kind of surprised, but not necessarily disappointed with Belinda going home. As others have said, she was very stiff and not too exciting to watch. I guess Jackazz has more fans than I realized. Same with Woz! I skimmed thru the one-hr pre-show first, to see the couples’ comments and omg, the new paddles were even worse when compared side-by-side like that. As you said Annie, even the font was uglier! Biggest news of the night: back to the old paddles! Yay! I have to agree with everyone…..not sure watching the bottom 2 is going to be so exciting every week, especially if the judges are going to be too chicken to step it up. Guess we’ll see…. Though I guess it was nice for Belinda to have that little more moment in the sun. My biggest question: will I ever be able to find this blog page again once the real recap is up? Sure couldn’t with Monday night’s…..

  • DanOregon

Honestly, it probably came down to which contestant seemed to be enjoying the show more, Woz or Belinda. She didn’t seem to be into it at all. Which is surprising because she is a performer, and Woz sure as hell ain’t. The guy nutted up and danced with a broken foot and never stopped smiling. That will get you far in this world.

  • Ron H.

DB…if the only reason you were watching DWTS was to see Belinda Carlisle then, man, you need to do more than erase the show from your DVR. Quick…that’s a life passing you by. Go get it!
