If the news reports are true, tonight’s the night that George Clooney’s Doug Ross will make his much-anticipated return to ER with –- we’re hoping — his beloved Carol (Julianna Margulies) intow. Unlike the last time Clooney made a surprise appearance -– when the entire episode was shot in secret -– fans have been given lots ofnot-so-subtle clues this season that hot boy could show up any day now. Heck, it’s not like executive producer David Zabel tried to hide the fact; hetold EW last year that he planned to court the vets like Clooney, Margulies, and Anthony Edwards to return for the show’s final season.Talk about an anticlimactic moment.
But will any of this spoil myenjoyment of tonight’s not-to-be-missed episode? Heck no! I was giddy whenClooney showed up in 2000 to reunite with Carol, and I’m sure my goose bumps willreturn if and when Clooney appears in those yummy scrubs. I just pray he hasdeeper dialogue than "give me a CBC" or "a TBD" and instead talks longinglyabout the old days when he used to beat up child abusers in the E.R. Might we berewarded with a little gurney-based hibity-dibity with Carol, even? Can a girldream? What are you hoping from the Clooney comeback?

But I had a bigger girl crush on Carol.
However, because of school, I will be forced to watch tomorrow.
But I am wayyyy too excited.
It was great to see Doug & Carol back, plus Carter and his best buddy, Eric LaSalle (I’m sure I didn’t spell that right, but you know who I am talking about! I really missed seeing Anthony Edwards, that would have been too perfect. Shame on you Anthony for not coming back to what got you on the Hollywood map!

It was great to see Carol and Doug again and Benton too. Never in a million years would I ever have expected Dr. Benton to support a “teaching case” hahaha
Um Becky, check your facts…Anthony Edwards already came back once this season, and his character is dead…so him being in tonights episode would have been near impossible.
Great episode! Doug and Carol had more scenes than I expected and I didn’t know Benton would be in this one, so tonight’s show was a pleasant surprise. And the fabulous Susan Sarandon too! Loved seeing Benton and Carter together again. I really hope they give Carter a happy ending. Kudos to all the actors returning to the show that launched their careers. As a fan since the beginning, this final season has been a real treat.

It was just a great warm feeling to see Doug and Carol together again. Have missed them so much. Benton was great also. All the characters have grown up from when they were Residents.
