Would you believe it’s been half a decade since we last saw La Brit on the road? Five years after a knee injury shorted out her Onyx Hotel Tour, the star — then still but a Cheeto-twirling pop tartlet, now a 27-year-old battle-hardened divorcee and mother of two — brought the Circus to New Orleans last night.
Dressed as a sexy ringmaster, directing a colorful cast thatincluded jugglers, acrobats, and martial arts dancers, the Louisiana native treated a nearly sold-out crowd to, as the Associated Press describes it, "a tightly choreographed, if perfunctory" performance (see a sneak peak provided by her new sponsor, Candies, below), full of Big Top-style razzle-dazzle. The ringmistress herself was widely reported to be lip-syncing her way through hits like the more recent"Womanizer" and "Piece of Me" and the now 10-year-old(!) "Baby One More Time."
Readers, you’ll have 26 more chances to catch her live before she heads to Europe in June….Will U Seek Britney?

I’m going to the April 3rd show in Minneapolis. I’m super pumped. I have to see her at least once.
Why did she lip-sync every song?
ILL BE SEEKING BRITNEY ON MARCH 30th in HOUSTON TX!!!
I CANT WAIT!
BUT IM REALLY WAITING FOR KELLY CLARKSON TO TOUR…NOW SHE PUTS ON A GREAT REAL SHOW!
Cmon, are people REALLY asking, “why did she lipsynch?”
It’s been 10 years, this is her MO, she’s been doing it all along, it is a concert, but live singing should not be what you’re expecting. At all.
Eighties Janet Jackson + strip pole choreography + Circue du Soleil, with a touch of Nineties Madonna.
I like Brit, but I wish pop music would expand ahead of this paradigm and let girls sing without having to behave and dress as strip performers. Think of all the great unheard music we’re losing by this.
Men don’t have to strip onstage or act like Bettie Page; why do we? This is nothing but post-Madonna, Eighties/Nineties visual drivel. This is the 21st century. POP MUSIC WAKE UP. Get into something New.
Looks like Britney’s at it again just pacing from one side of the stage to another…let’s face it folks the poor girl has lost her ability to dance because of her medication.
niceeeeeeeeeeeee
I’ll be front and center Apr.30 in Columbus, OH! Britney is the greatest entertainer of our generation. This is truly going to be the best show on earth. I probably won’t even be able to sleep the night before!
Lame.
Why are people excited to see her? She really has very little talent. I doubt she would even make it to Hollywood if she tried out for American Idol. Her dancing sucks, her singing(when she really sings) sucks. So why? I hate these stupid young girls who say “Britney is so Talented”.
Give the girl a break. But honestly she is a pretty girl and I would likee to see her in a beautiful gown not showing so much body. I believe she can sing…so come on people, give the girl a break.
Love her or hate her, nobody can deny she puts on an amazingly entertaining show. I have my tix for April 30th Columbus as well!! Britney is a pop star/performer and not a vocalist. When will people get that through their heads. We dont go to see her shows for some powerhouse vocals. We go for sexy outfits, hot dancing, and great theatrics!! Cant wait!!!
i agree with heather- even if i do enjoy Madonna’s concerts very much. I just wish these pop tarts would do something more original…
Give her a break? What about all the young girls who actually can sing and are struggling to break into the biz, they are the ones who need a break. Not this untalented, narcissistic, wacko. I’ll never forget her words to the paramedics as they were wheeling her out of her house that one time – “Don’t cover me up, I’m f*&^ing Hot!” Good thing your pretty, cause thats about all you have going for you.
Before showing her belly and wiggling about as if she were attractive, she should lose some weight. Her belly is thick. Also, of course I lament that female singers have to act like whores (for some though, it comes naturally). Look to the French – they have style and over there vocal capacities are what matter by far the most.
