The CW is giving Privileged a very early season finale on Feb. 24, making us worry for its future. Here’s why the freshman critical fave deserves to graduate to a second season.
1. Joanna Garcia
As tutor-to-the-rich Megan Smith (pictured, left), Garcia plays cynical and sunny, pretty and goofy, dark and funny. Think Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in one, with a little Veronica Mars on top.
2. The Gilmore vibe
Nothing can replace the Girls, but Privileged comes close, with heartfelt family stories, endearing side characters (Allan Louis’ chef Marco — pictured, right — has his own series’ worth of drama!), and sparkling banter.
3. The Twins
Megan’s wealthy charges, Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) and Sage (Ashley Newbrough), struggle with Paris Hilton urges, date dorks and the help, and might even want to be a little smart.
4. Its Dark Side
Megan’s mom, who ditched her when she was a kid, suddenly reappeared. She then stole $25,000 from Megan’s boyfriend. Who was planning to use it as bail money for Megan’s sister. Who was accused of running drugs.
5. Underrated Actors
Anne Archer as matriarch Laurel, Sharon Lawrence as Megan’s mom, and cougar bait Robert Buckley (Lipstick Jungle) as her editor…they’ve earned their job security! –Jennifer Armstrong

Privileged and How I Met Your Mother are the only two shows I must watch in real time and hate to watch on my dvr later. Privileged has to come back for another season, I’m bummed that it’s ending so soon too. It would help if it had a better lead in than 90210 imo.

I thought I’d hate this show. I’m so glad I was wrong! It’s funny, it’s sweet, and I want Megan to be my friend, she’s so cool.
I think it was marketed incorrectly, I thought it was a gossip girl/90210 type show and never bothered to tune it. Of course it didn’t help that it was on a such an off the radar network.
Privileged is one of my favorite shows on TV this year. I really, really want it to come back.

I agree with the Gilmore vibe, and it is cute and adorable, and not to the point that you are embarrass to watch it! I like it to get another chance, it’s defo not a Gossip Girl/90210 surface shallow show, it has more depth and likable characters! If it doesn’t get a 2nd season, it will go with the other greats that were canceled to early (which they are lots).
Actually I only started to watch it coz it was on after 90210 (fan of the original one) and it was ‘Privileged’ I ended up being a fan of instead, I still have 3 episodes of 90210 to watch on my DVR (may even delete them?) but ‘Privileged’ gets watched right away in my house!

LOVE the show! The CW hit a home run with this one and have to give it a 2nd season! Sage and Rose are amazing and add so much colour and spice to each episode. Marco is hilarious and a must keep…. Come on CW you have a definite winner here!! Give it it’s right time slot and night and your ratings will soar!!!
Now that Rose and Sage have softened, this show is great. Bring it back, CW!
It’s my new Gilmore, not a replacement, but certainly has a similar sassypants-sweet vibe. Hope it’s not being canceled.
I think the CW knew they can’t compete with American Idol, which dominates Tuesday nights. Let’s just hope they bring it back in the fall!
I love this show. Megan is no Lorili, but she is entertaining and adorable.
I like this show, but Gossip Girl is much better.
Oh GOD please bring back!! it’s a great underrated show with a perfect balance of sweetness and depth. And the acting is fantastic all around. Hey! if the CW is dumb enough to cancel it, it would be perfect for ABC Family!!! get on it, Disney execs!!
I’m sorry but I gotta disagree…I’ve seen every episode of Privileged but lately its just horrible
1. Garcia is annoying…She tries talking like they did on Gilmore Girls, but she just comes off annoying
2. Still love Gilmore Girls sooo much more!
3. The twins are ANNOYING! Storylines are boring, and the guy playing Will is a horrible actor!

I have been a fan since the very first episode, I will be sorely disappointed if tptb do not bring it back. Everytime I get invested in a show and its characters the networks start making me sweat, because I don’t know if I’ll ever see my favorites again. My past records have not been great, but I am hoping that this once I am not disappointed. Who better to watch than Megan, Marco, Will, Sage, Rose, Laurel, Keith, etc… I love everyone on the show. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!

I love this show as well, I watch it constantly. It is so funny, Joanna Garcia and the twins are so hilarious. I really want to see next season, Please CW, keep it on the air. It is the only decent thing I watch on the CW. (not to diss gossip girls, but its a little too trashy for my liking. This show has some quality to it)
