The trailer for the movie 9 is at the top of my Must List this week, even though I have no clue what the film’s actually about. Seriously, I’ve watched it four times and all I can gather is that cute bug-eyed doll things try to save the post-apocalyptic Earth — kinda like the videogame LittleBigPlanet with shades of WALL-E. Or something like that. I don’t actually care; I’ll see it anyway, as long as it continues to walk that adorable/creepy line Tim Burton has mastered so well. Plus, I’ve got to give credit to the only reason I’ll ever willingly listen to a Coheed & Cambria song.
How about you, PopWatchers? What’s on your Must List this week? List up to three items from current TV/movies/music/books/games/online. Don’t forget your e-mail address, in case we decide to use your submission in the magazine. Deadline is Thursday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. ET.

“The Magician’s Apprentice” by Trudi Canavan, a prequel to her Magician’s Guild trilogy. I could not put the book down.
My current musts:
1. The Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher – catching up on them in anticipation for the new book and it makes me remember why I love them so. If I could live in any book universe, I believe it would be this one…as long as I knew what those around Harry know.
2. Cash Cab on Discovery Channel – a new find for me and even if they are repeats, I find this show fun to watch and I love Ben!! (and the funny faces he makes when folks are way out in left field with their answers)
3. Bones on DVD – Catching up on my favorite forensic anthropologist and the hunky FBI agent makes me happy. Plus, Hodgins is a major plus during first season as he has some of the best zingers in the show!!
Must TV – SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS
Must MUSIC – The Veronicas, “Untouched”
Must MOVIE – MILK
Must WEBSITE – http://www.mint.com (the perfect website to budget during the financial crisis — online, iPhone, Blackberry, anywhere!)
Must BOOK – THE DIVORCE PARTY by Laura Dave
…Watching “Being Human” through nefarious means on the internet and anticipating it coming to BBCAmerica. Yes, the world needs more shows about vampires and werewolves (and ghosts)!
1 – Drag Race’s Nina Flowers!
2 – Top Model Anticipation!
3 – American Idol gets to the good stuff!
Best! TV week! Ever!
MUST TV: “Leverage” season finale. The characters in this Ocean’s Eleven/Robin Hood style con-men with hearts of gold show bring comedy and fun adventure every week in one of the most pleasant surprises of the television season. But how will they deal with (the potential) break-up of their merry band of thiefs at the hands of the insurance executive that Nate (Timothy Hutton) blames for killing his son and ruining his life?
Seriously, this has been one of my favorite “finds” on television this season, and deserves some “Must List” love….if not its own TV Watch column….
1 – Word Challenge on Facebook
2 – Lie To Me – it’s one of three shows I actually sit and watch without multitasking. (Lost and Bones being the other two.)
3 – And speaking of Bones – David Boreanaz is a renewed must for me. Never have I been able to forget an old character I loved so much and see that actor as a new character completely. He’s no longer Angel – he’s Booth. That’s no small feat – ask Jennifer Aniston or Matthew Perry.
when i clicked on the trailer i was expecting daniel day-lewis and nicole kidman. that’s nine not 9! ha.
TV – “Dollhouse”. Joss Whedon has a new TV show! Do I actually need to elaborate on why this is a must? Even if Fox did give it the Friday night deathslot, I like to think this time will be different. It has to be different.
Album – “Incredibad” by the Lonely Island. The funniest thing in my world right now. It helped me get through my annual “most stressful work-week” and then some. Thank God I’ve got headphones.
TV part 2 – Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Can he possibly make the Tonight Show as awesome as he’s done with his own show for the last how many years? Last night’s revisit of him shooting guns with Hunter S. Thompson was worth the DVR time alone. I can only hope he brings his…edge (?) and wacko sensibilities to Tonight, ’cause to me, Jimmy Fallon (ugh) has already lost to Craig Ferguson…
The Amazing Race!!!
If the bungee jump and the rolling cheese task is any indication, this is going to be the best season yet!
1.)Street Fighter IV – it’s like 1992 all over again, except better and less awkward.
2.)Sober House – You won’t be able to take your eyes off of this C-list “celebrity” train wreck.
3.)Oscar Drinking Party – Take a drink each time Slumdog Millionaire wins something. It will make tolerating the hype of Slumdog Millionaire that much more tolerable. Viva la Dark Knight!
ADELE.. the singer/songwriter rightfully won Best New Artist at the Grammy’s, and if you do not own her album 19, go get it now! Although her hit Chasing Pavements has captured everyone’s attention, both Melt My Heart to Stone and her cover of Make You Feel My Love are heart-rendering classics..
also.. LOST and FRINGE.. JJ Abrams is a matermind
Does anyone know the name of the song on that trailer?
Must List:
Friday Night TV – This has absolutely become my favorite night of television. Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galactica, Psych and now Dollhouse, how could you go wrong? It’s perfect.
Since he’s (unjustly) almost forgotten my shout out goes to Ray Liotta. The trailer for “Observe and Report” looks awesome and “Crossing Over” sounds like “Crash”-with-more-interesting-cast. Liotta is in both. I bet he is brilliant like always.
real housewives of nyc!!!! DRAMA!!!
