I could not disagree with you more EW. Now I’m a fan of offensive humor (South Park, Family Guy, Chappelle’s Show) but this was just terrible. I felt uncomfortable the entire time I watched it, which was for about half the show, and didn’t laugh once. Isn’t satire supposed to be funny?

I wanted to like the show but it’s not my cup of tea. I’ll give it another chance though. And the principal was funny.

The film was just too dumb for its own good. First off, why did this guy end up teaching gym at a high school? Why didn’t he try to get another type of job and finally get stuck as a sub teacher – that’s what happens to all my laid off pals. Secondly, how does a guy who has zero arm strength play a baseball player? Why wasn’t he fired when he decided to cuss over the school PA system? Is everyone in that Southern town a complete tool to this guy? “Eastbound” felt like a film school project. Kenny Powers is a supporting character in search of a leading man to sponge off of

This show is funny. Hope we see more of
that “Cleg” character (Ben Best) He’s a hoot!
Saw him in Foot,Fist Way” with Mcbride and he was funny in that too!

  • Breathe IT in FIRST

I had to get used to the character for the first 15minutes but after that I thought it was comic gold! Definitely takes a little open mindedness towards the beginning, but hey its the FIRST episode! Give it a chance, I have a feeling this show is gonna be BIG

Horrible actor. I can see how Stiller and Ferrell like this guy, he is as awful as they are, no development 0 charm (I understand that you don’t have to like a character, but there needs to be something amusing about them). I turned this off after 12 minutes, just awful.

  • Ron Burgundy

Comedy Gold. McBride is like a small screen verison of Will Ferrell. The supporting cast is talented as well – especially the clueless principle.

  • Larry David

HBO’s best series since Curb Your Enthusiasm. Its about time HBO churned out some quality programming.

  • Ron Burgundy

Hey OJ . . . your an idiot. My guess is your a fan of such mindless television as American Idol and the Jim Belushi show.

It also took me about 15 minutes to get into it, but then I really liked it. Gotta respect HBO for having the guts to air a comedy about such a repugnant character. One question: How do you watch an HBO show On Demand if you have no DVR?

i thought the show was hilarious, “how do you like Newyork?” “You mean Jewyork, F**king great!” lol why do people watch this type of comedy if they dont get it or dont like the crudeness, then actually go on the internet and write about it? For all normal comedy loving people and stoners this show is a very good laugh, was in tears a lot of times throughout the show!

To all the haters that commented negatively on this masterpiece, You’re F*cking Out!

Hey Ron Burgundy, I thought that I made it clear, I am not a fan of such mindless television as American Idol and the Jim Belushi show when I said implied that I was not a fan of Eastbound. A fan of Ferrell is accusing somebody of being a fan of mindless entertainment? Really? Your tag name is Ron Burgandy, a name of a character Ferrell plays, you realize you could put any of his characters names, since they are all the same. Ferrell and McBride are very similar actors, they have the range of a 5 year old actor.(come on Will and Danny, throw a fit, now act like an idiot, good job)

OJ, why do you keep coming back to a comments section of a show that you hated, and (I presume) never plan to watch again?
Slow day at work, I guess?

  • OJ

I wanted to see if anybody agreed with me, but nope. Then I thought that Ron Burgundy’s comments were funny and I pictured him acting like a child and stomping, throwing a fit because I do not like his point of view. It was also funny to read “your an idiot” his unintentional grammar mistake was amusing.
