I loved the way last night’s 30 Rock handled Valentine’s Day, because there are cool-ish women out there who tend to not prioritize a timely calculation as to when exactly this "holiday" will attack. If it happens to fall on Saturday/Stew night, then WHATEVER, and personally I have trouble wrapping my creme-filled head around the notion that there’s only one special day we should stuff our faces full of chocolate…not to mention substitute cheddar cheese for water. When you live every day like it’s February 14th, it becomes nearly impossible to make the distinction. No 30 Rock clip has better illustrated this philosophy than Lemon’s proposed alternative to Jack’s high-class V-Day dessert. While Regular Person Lemon spent most of the episode in Jon HammWith Floppy Hair Land, catering to the all-of-a-sudden emotionallyneedy Dr. Drew Baird, Jack faux-basked in the glory of God, terrifiedthat Elisa would discover he was nowhere near the caliber of even a"convenient Catholic" who only goes to church once a week. Jack’son-the-spot rewriting of the "Our Father" was reminiscent of his other25-karat gold leaf-worthy multitasking performance, that one time heconducted a business call and a Lemon in-person consult at the sametime. (Lemon: "Aha! That didn’t work — you said sir." Jack: "Ithink it worked just fine.") Jack’s confession scene was even better,particularly the admission that he once claimed he was God in adeposition. (As EW.com reader Donovan Green rushed to email us: "Thiswas a hilarious reference to ascene in the film Malice!")
In the end, Elisa wasn’t buying Jack’s rather sensible suggestionthat "God wants us to leave here, get a good meal, and go to town oneach other," and the damn crazy gringo was left to enjoy his specialdessert — "Is this, like, a Sixth Sense thing?" — alone. But thanks be to God and/or heavenly fast food coupons, Jack wouldget to see the crazy underwears Elisa had on. Considering Dr. Baird andLemon’s increasingly awful timing — he saw her on the toilet on thefirst date; she put her mouth on his mouth right after hismother-actually-grandmother died — the future for TV’s most promisinglydelicious couple, Iced Lemon Cake, might not be so sweet.
Backon the ranch (or NBC Studios — sometimes I forget because we barelysee it), Kenneth crushed on Jennifer, a blind girl whose instincts havenever failed her except that one time she looked at an eclipse.Very cute casting — Maria Thayer played Jack McBrayer’s fiancee in Forgetting Sarah Marshall– but I was more excited that she used to be Tammy "Tamela" Littlenut,the endearingly pathetic do-gooder who bore the brunt of Jerri Blank’slesbianic advances in Strangers With Candy. Tracy starredconvincingly as The Voice of Kenneth in this mini rom-com (my favoriteoutburst was "Corncobs!") but to no avail: After an inspection of thetopography of Kenneth’s non-chin and the horrifying realization thather new man was not black, Jennifer signed out. ("Look at the time!"said the blind girl.) Jenna popped up for her weekly cameo, ostensiblyto perform her Song of the Week as Michael McDonald — but perhaps, abit more subtly, to squeeze another Micky D’s reference into the wintrymix.

AWFUL SHOW
My favorite episode of the season. Nords, Corncobs, and too soon!!! i was a giggle box last night.
Loved it. The “too soon” declarations throughout, the crazy underwears, the suspicion that Dr. Baird in all of his handsomeness was going to kill Liz — all of it. More excellent fuel for my Jon Hamm obsession.
She had more stew while you were outside
More wonderful stuff. This Alec Baldwin KILLS. His confessional scene had me on the floor!
Awesome Awesome Awesome…Tracy Jordan’s/Morgan’s impression of Kenneth was ridiculously spot on. I was quite impressed. Dr. Baird seeing Liz on the toilet was so awkward and so Lemonlike. Loved the ep!
sadly, last night re-enforced the main problem with this potentially classic show: inconsistency. not a laugh to be found. many attempts at humour really lame. and how can this be when so many other episodes are pitch-perfect hilarity?
I really liked last night’s episode. The preist fleeing the confessional, Tracy Speaking for Jack (corncob), Jenna singing as Mike McDonald. The weakest was the Dr. Alec Baldwin, “I want to go to there.:)

probably my second favorite of the season after retreat to move forward. the most consistently funny show on TV.
It was the teensiest bit uneven, but man, the first half had me DYING laughing! The thing with 30 Rock is, even the un-even is better than any other show out there.
FABULOUS EPISODE. I really got to appreciate the comic timing of Baldwin and Tina was as funny and witty as ever. I think this was my favorite episode of all of them!
I loved when Grizz and Dot Com were acting as the maitre’ D and the sound effects guy for the restaurant! Who knew Grizz (I think? I get them confused as to who is who) knew how to speak French!

I see my comment doesn’t read very well. To me the weakest part of the show was the Dr. Alec Baldwin is my hero!!!!!He was great. “I want to go to there”, and share a Mc Flurry..and maybe a cup of coffee with the Can’t wait to see him on SNL this weekend. Generalissimo.
In a world where product placement is becoming the norm for TV shows, I love that Tina Fey and co. are able to handle it with so much tongue in cheek humor and wit. The opening with the McFlurry was amazing…and the way it was interwoven into this ridiculous plot was genius…and it did the trick…I want a McFlurry!
Why does the post appear without the spaces I put in? Oh well.
Anyone who does not find this show the least bit funny has issues. Tina and Alec are comic geniuses.

The first half was gold, but the quality took a noticeable nosedive after Dr. Baird suddenly became emotionally needy. Fortunately, Alec Baldwin is able to singlehandedly carry this show.
30 Rock is surpassing The Office for me. The writing is always consistent and hilarious and the in-jokes leave me in fits of giggles. The McFlurry product placement slightly annoyed me — I wanted one of them to say “Can we have our money now?” like in a few episodes back — but the off-the-cuff prayer/phone call more than made up for it. I’m really looking forward to seeing Liz have a good relationship with someone… hopefully Jon Hamm! All in all, another solid episode. Great recap too! I’m growing dependent on them every week.
Patron Saint of Judgemental Statues. Funniest thing I’ve heard in ages. Salma Hayek’s really warming up to the comedy style; I wasn’t big on her at first, but this week she was killer.
It was a great show, Nords, i’ve actually been saying nards a lot recently, but Nords is just as good. The confession scene was classic – i wonder if that really happens in real life, where a very sensual confession disturbs the priest, actually it probably happens all the time based on the news, hah! richsugardaddy.com
