In keeping with her Marilyn-esque look at this year’s Golden Globes ceremony, Drew Barrymore showed up on The Tonight Show last night with poofy hair, drag-queen eyelashes, and a dress that has already ignited an e-mail war between EW Style editor Meeta Agrawal and me.
Me: I like it. It’s a little over the top, but I love how it feels like she actually has fun getting dressed for an event instead of holding a staff meeting with a panel of stylists and assistants.
Meeta: The poof looks like a goiter. End of story.

At first I didn’t like the pouf, but then she made a joke about it, and it grew on me. At least she looks like she is having fun with fashion, and that is really what fashion is all about. I love it!
I think it would have looked perfect WITHOUT the poof, but overall, I don’t mind the poof. Her hair and makeup are great and I agree it looks like she is having fun.

Ok, that story was hysterical. I have totally done stuff equally bone-headed. I really like her. I think she would probably be a fun person to go on a roadtrip with!!
She looked great. She was funny. It’s tough as you enter your thirties. It’s when you have to figure out what you’ll look like as a grownup without losing the fun. She pulled it off.
Her look is adorable, her story is hilarious… I think it’s a win.
I liked the dress, but did anyone else notice how her lipstick made her teeth look yellow? I had to switch channels because I kept getting distracted.
I LOVE Drew! She is cute and funny, but the dress made her look like a matron! Rip off that gob of dark mess on her shoulder, shorted the dress some and it would have been a hit! Did you know Leno used to babysit for her? He walked her off stage hand in hand. He never does that for any female guests. He also dated Sharon Osbourne before she married The Prince of Darkness (Ozzy)

Love Drew, she has always had a real woman’s body. Never a stick thin anorexic wanna-be, and we share the same birthday, 2/22. Although I am a few years older than her.
She looks really nice. I do think her hairstyle at the Golden Globe was a little over the top, though.
I think she looks beautiful. A little over the top if she were a stay-at-home mom running to the store, but great for a glamourous actress.

Love her. She’s so cute and I think she’s just having a blast with fashion. I loved listening to her story and whatever she wants to wear is fine by me. I LOVED her GG dress so much that the hair didn’t bother me. Her look on Leno was great.

The whole look was horrid – did not flatter her usually sunny looks at all. Meeta, you couldn’t be more right. Also, I think she has Bell’s palsy on the side of her face that doesn’t move when she talks. It is like one side is paralyzed. Very noticeable on this clip.

I can’t say I loved the pillow rest on her shoulder, but otherwise she looked great. I love Drew, so I can get passed it.

I was a little taken aback by the dress, but when she said the poof was like a pillow, I let it slide because she’s ridiculously cute. And the truck stop tranny story was hilarious.
Drew could wear a potato sack and look great. The poof was a little distracting, but, once the story started, I was totally transfixed. All I could see was her beaming smile and twinkling eyes.

Fabulous–she totally pulled it off, and I could totally picture her wearing that anywhere–including the greyhound bus trip. I want to go out and find a dress like that–being blonde, maybe I can pull it off too.
