Whose side are you on in the Hilary Duff and Faye Dunaway battle of insults? (I refuse to call it a "catfight.")As you know, Duff is set to star in an adaptation, not a remake, of Bonnie and Clyde, the 1967 film that earned Dunaway an Oscar nomination. Upon hearing of Duff’s casting, Dunaway reportedly said, "Couldn’t they at least cast a real actress?" Interviewed by E!’s Daily 10 while filming a guest appearance on CBS’ Ghost Whisperer (ouch!), Dufff responded with this: "I think that my fans that are gonna go see the movie don’t even know who she is…. I think it was a little unnecessary, but I might be mad if I looked like that now, too."
On the one hand, you should never diss another actress, let alone an Oscar winner. On the other, Dunaway did allegedly start it… and she appeared in a 2004 Sci Fi Channel movie called Anonymous Rex.

The thing is, one day your face will look like that, Hilary. And then some 20-year-old will say the same thing about you.
I love hilary and have been a fan of hers ever since i was little. I do admit that some of the movies she has done the acting was not so great, but we can’t judge until we see it. Personally i don’t they would have cast her in a great movie like that unless they new she do a great job at it. It alot of the movie that she was really good in. personally faye seems to a jealous bitch and no not every one looks like that when they get to faye age to bite me
go team hil
and like i said don’t judge until you see the movie your self
I had the same reaction as Faye…couldn’t they at least cast a real actress? How is Hilary Duff supposed to sell a portrayal of someone who can kill?
ultimately dunaway is right. duff is a joke and will never be taken seriously as the “actress” she claims to be. she’s essentially a disney spokesperson. bonnie and clyde is a classic, and i cannot belive duff is going to play bonnie. please.
also, duff probably knows dunaway is right. anyone can tell that dunaway is “mad” because duff is going to butcher a part she was great it. nothing has anything to do with looks. but duff, the shallow person that she is, makes it about looks, but never actually asseses dunaway’s statement.
Hilary, you should hope and pray that you look like Ms. Dunaway when you are her age.
Good grief, you are Lizzie McGuire. Have a little class.
Bob — my thoughts exactly.
In rereading my statement, I must clarify. Being Lizzie McGuire is not an acting accomplishment and is not the reason she should have class. Sorry for any confusion I might have caused.
They both should have kept their mouths shut. Neither comment reflects well on them. If you can’t say anything nice…
Faye might feel mad for Duff being cast but to say it in public was a stupid thing to do. Duff was asked how it made her feel and she also responded with the truth. I think it would have been better publicity for both if they kept their thoughts to themselves.
You know you’re doing something right when Hilary Duff’s fans don’t know who you are. And Faye in her prime was about a gajillion times prettier than horsy Hilary ever was.
Dunaway is right. Isn’t Hilary Duff a Paris Hilton-type singer? Why would she be considered for an acting role anyway?
Good for Hillary to fight back. Given that Faye Dunway is a has been, i thought her wb reality show about the casting process proved her to be a total moron. So yeah, sorry, i side with the Duff on this one. Faye Started it… Duff should have shown a little class, but hey, i would have done the same thing, shown no class whatsoever.
This movie won’t be good and no one will bother seeing it (just like the rest of Duff’s movies). I’d be surprised if it were even widely released in theaters. The rest of the cast, according to IMDb, does not bode well for this movie.
The fact that people are still talking about the 1967 version speaks volumes about the quality of that movie and Dunaway’s performance. No one will even remember who Hilary Duff is in 40 years.
Faye Dunaway all the way. If you are gonna be involved in the remake/adaptation of an all time classic, be prepared to be picked apart. If Duff can’t take a legit comment like Dunaway’s now… what’s she gonna do when the film comes out and it sucks ?? Be prepared Duff… be very prepared.
Hilary has the nerve to comment on Faye Dunaway’s looks? WOW. Quite interesting comment coming from a hack whose primary claim to fame is as a cartoon character. Oh, and by the way, Hilary…Freddie Mercury called. He wants his teeth back.
I go with faye on this one. nothing againts hillary but, bonnie and clyde is a classic for wich miss dunaway won an oscar. i will be upset too! whoever is making the movie should have cast a better actress. why not scarlett, drew or natalie portman?
My only question is will they portray Clyde as gay this time, as he was in real life.
Mee-ow! Who knew Duffy had it in her? Dunaway is an old hand at smarm, but HD? Anyhoo, considering the mediocre showing of HD’s previous movies, this may be the only way to get free pub on this direct to video “adaptation”.
Both are wrong.
Hillary Duff is No Hathaway.
Faye Dunway is no Streep.
They should both be thankful for anything they have achieved, and have some class.
I look forward to seeing Hilary’s remake of Bonnie and Clyde on select Alaska Airline flights and of course on basic cable in between showings of the Hottie and the Nottie and Chasing Liberty.
Bam!
Roasted.
Duff pretty much conceded that Dunaway was correct when she responded with an attack on Dunaway’s looks.
LMAO!! SHINEY FTW…..lol that was funny. I’m thinking even Alaska Airlines might have too much class to air this joke of a movie…lol
I don’t know, I think Ms. Dunaway had a legitimate question.
Yes, Faye should have chilled. Even if she was right.
just checked imdb and faye only had 4 credits prior to bonnie and clyde. she wasn’t a “real” actress then, either. maybe she should cut hil some slack.
I can’t blame anyone for being concerned about casting Hilary Duff, but wow, in that pic she’s a dead ringer for a young Faye Dunaway. She might get to be angry for “looking like that” someday herself.
Dunaway is renowned for being a diva and difficult to work with so her reaction doesn’t surprise me. It was completely uncalled for her to say that about Hilary. Especially when she’s appearing on something as bad as Ghost Whisperer. Have some class, Faye.
Haha…i really dont care. But, the michael scott post was classic. I was laughing pretty hard.
They were both wrong to say what they did, but both sentiments were true. Hilary ain’t much of an actress and Faye does look weird (because of plastic surgery, not age). It was crappy, but I don’t really blame Hilary for fighting back a bit. Also, Faye, when she was a youngster, talked some mess about Bette Davis being old, so maybe it is just karma.
