Should Judd Apatow make Bill Hader's slasher movie?

Billhaderjuddapatow_lSaturday Night Live‘s Bill Hader is trying to convince Judd Apatow to team up with him for a horror comedy. Hader tells CHUD.com that he and SNL scribe Simon Rich have presented their idea to Apatow (who produced Superbad, in which Hader costarred), but says he isn’t sure if it’ll get made. Though cryptic about the actual plot of the film, Hader said that he’s a fan of true crime shows, and that, "That’s basically what the movie is about. What if that guy decided tocome to your house? What would you and your dips— friends do aboutit?" While the concept sounds Scream meets Shaun of the Dead to me, Hader likened it to "Straw Dogs meets Halloween meets Home Alone meets Monster Squad."

What do you think? Should Apatow make the movie? Let him know in our poll below. I vote yes because, while I’m not a fan of true crime shows, I have experienced that moment after a CSI marathon when you become hyperaware of your surroundings and everything (and everyone) that could kill you. There are laughs to be had there.

Im all for a movie that is Straw Dogs meets Halloween meets Home Alone meets Monster Squad. Especially the Monster Squad part.

Do It! Hader is a genius, and this could be comedy gold, people!

Any movie that involves elements of Monster Squad should IMMEDIATELY be made.

Yeah, I think Apatow would be great, if you like your movies 2 and a half hours long. Hader is funny, just not a fan of Mr. Apatow.

Hader is as consistent as any comedian out there. He (along with Kristen Wiig) are usually the stand-outs on “SNL,” and Hader has shown in many movies, especially “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” that his humor transfers to the big screen.

Everyone should get on board and drink Hader’s Kool-Aid ’cause he’s been hilarious in all the movies I’ve seen him in so far, he’s got great comedic sense, and I think his pitch could be hilarious if it steers clear of the crap that is the Scary Movie series. I hope it gets made.

I might be considered that it would just be the American version of Shaun of the Dead because that was a horror comedy with heart the last being Judd Apatow’s thing. Of course, SOTD kind of was also a social commentary (you know, Shaun didn’t notice the zombie and then the zombie like behavior of normal people). This sounds like it might kind of be do, the topic being voyeurism in culture (i.e., reality TV)

Hader is funny and his acting in Superbad was awesome. I’d think that he can pull off an Americanized Shaun of the Dead without question.

YES. Then again, I’m up for anything involving Bill Hader, so maybe I’m a bit biased.

Sure. Bill is pretty funny. But dammit, there better consistent funny parts in the middle and end, unlike most Apatow productions!

Bill Hader automatically = Epic WIn. What is not to love about his description?
