Which of your New Year’s resolutions will win out tonight — Lose Some Damn Weight or Stop Watching So Much Damn Reality TV?
Tonight’s premiere of The Biggest Loser: Couples proudly boasts the oldest couple ever, the youngest man ever, and the biggest woman ever. (It’s probably not "ever," but I prefer to be as sensationalistic as possible when discussing a show that routinely spends nearly half a minute on various zoom-ins of every single challenge. PIZZA. FRIED CHICKEN. DUNK TANK FULL OF POPCORN BUTTER. Cue threatening Lost-esque sound effects!) Not to mention the biggest player ever. That’d be Daniel (pictured, right), who’s paired with his bromeister David on the rather unfortunately hued Orange Team. Aw, they’re wincing already. They have no idea what’s ahead of them — namely, the terrorizing grill of trainer Jillian Michaels warning them that the only way they’ll get off that treadmill is if they die on it.
Will you tune in tonight? Or are you still full from the huge sixth-season helping of Loser that ended less than three weeks ago? You know I’ll be there. I love me a good fitness-weary meltdowns. (And a delicious heap of melts.)

Last season, I swore off reality television after seeing how nasty and evil people become when chasing money (ahem, Vicki). But I’m such a sucker for this show. I have to watch. I love your comment about the music. I told my husband that it always sounds like they are going into battle.
JILLIAN ROCKS!
I always get sucked into this show even though it’s so overdramatic. What I really hate is the set-up commercials for stuff like 100 Calorie popcorn. It’s so awkward and horrible. “After that workout I really need a snack.” “Hey, did you know that popcorn only has 100 calories per serving?” “Really!?!” “Yes.” “That’s so satisfying. I can’t believe everyone doesn’t eat this stuff.” puke.
Two hours is way too long for this show. The challenges are unnecessary and the weigh-in is really dragged out. I might PVR it and fast-forward to the transformation.
DVR-ing it is the best way to go. They really do like to stretch it out wayyyyy too much, playing the last half a minute before the commercial as the first half a minute when they come back, and an awful lot of forced suspense. If you hack out commercials and redundancies, it’s probably just a bit over an hour long.
That’s how I watch it, anyway, but I’ll be watching Scrubs over anything else tonight.
I can not wait to watch season seven of the biggest losser
I am so ready for this show! I know it’s hokey, but I just love it. It’s inspiring to see people who have given up learn to like and respect themselves again.
Hooray Annie! Please tell me this means we’ll finally have A Biggest Loser TV WATCH!!!!
I would also love to see a Biggest Loser TV Watch!
i love this show. so great. and its actually really profitable: http://www.octagonfirstcall.com/celebrityconsulting/Blog/
I agree — I’m a sucker for this show even though the 2-hour format is waaaaay too long. Thanks goodness for dvr – I could never watch this show in real time.
I absolutely love this show!!! cant wait!
I absolutely love this show!!! cant wait!
i can’t wait for this show. I’ve watched every season. I love 2 hour format, the challenges, the last chance work out and the weight ins. It’s all great. How about a BL TV Watch?!
This is one of the best shows ever written being that i have gained enough wieght to know be catgorized as morbidly obese this helps individuals like myself see that we are not alone even thou we see overwieght people we always feel alone and some of the contest go through the same things that we go through so i think it is a great show. Keep it coming.
I also DVR and omit the commercials and filler material. It is good stuff. Hopefully, there will not be playground bullies this season (um Vicky, Brady, and Heba). I watch to see people change their lives, not tear other’s down.
Who else thinks Vicky will gain all of her weight back? All she learned was how to play a game, not how to change your life.
Please, please, please…I am begging the EW gods…add the Biggest Loser to your TV Watch line-up!
If you do this for me, I promise to a.) start eating Jello and 100 calorie popcorn on a regular basis, b.) put all of my salads and veggies into ziplocs as a part of preparation and c.) forgive Bob for last season. (Mostly. Sorta. Depends on how he manages his team this time around. Can I promise to think about it?)
Lots o’ love

I really love this show. As someone who is currently on a weight loss plan, I find that this show inspires me to continue my plan every week. I admire these people for fighting such a long, grueling battle on national television and congratulate them for all of their accomplishments. I do hope this season has more of the camaraderie of seasons past. Last season was too cliquey and cruel with Ed, Heba and Vicky.
I truly hope Vicki gains all of weight back. I think she is a horrible ugly person on the inside and outside.
I cant wait!!!! This is my favorite show in the whole world. My husband watches the kids on Tues evenings so I can watch it in peace and quiet!!! I hated Heba and Vicki from the begining last season. I just hated to see how damn good they looked at the finale. Wish I could do that. But they are locked up with a bunch of people doing the same thing and not living reality life. No one could do that in real life. Between work and taking care of kids…but its AWESOME to see the transformations. Very inspiring, as Im dieting right now. Cant wait for a GREAT season..its looks like it might be the best season yet
I heart Jillian.
I am so very excited about Season 7, we just started the BL at work today, hope this season does NOT have a Vicki in the bunch. This show is the BEST motivation.
I really like this show and it’s great motivation for people who are trying to lose weight and jillian rocks. I joined WW through a work program about the same time when last season started. It really kept me motivated to stick with the program. I’m almost at my goal!
I agree last season’s contestants were a bunch of nasties… (Vicky & Heba) and I bet they gain a bunch of weight back. I hope we don’t have another one of those. It’s so funny though how the country voted Heba out at the finale for the final 3. That my friends is a perfect example of Karma! What goes around comes around. And then Vicky did not win a dime. LOVE IT!
Please EW start a Biggest Loser TV watch!!
Love. Love. LOVE The Biggest Loser!! And I got me a MAD girlcrush on Jillian. Add me to those that are hoping for a TV Watch.
i love the contestants so far!! they seem to always support each other! thats the way it should be… the ‘gameplay’ and nastiness of last season really turned me off… but if they could keep this up, ill be as hooked as season 5!
i HATED the twist this week though. its too soon… week 2 or 3 would have at least allowed them the time to sweat it out a bit.. blech. can’t wait till next week!!
PLEASE let them keep their shirts on and let the ladies wear tee shirts to the weigh ins also! PLEASE!!!!!!
Anyone know the name and artist of the song at the end of the episode on January 6, 2009? Thanks.
