This is terrible news! She will be missed! My personal favorite line is in Voyager when Janeway asks for coffee from the replicator and it goes “Make it yourself!”
Star Trek is as much a part of my life from TOS to the new incarnation due out next year. Number 1/Nurse Christine Chapel/voice of the Computer system will be greatly missed, may she join her husband amongst the stars….

This is the first I am hearing about this. I wonder why it wasn’t reported in the MSM? My condolences to her family.

I agree wholeheartedly. The loss of “Number One” is a loss to us all. From the original Trek all the way up to the new Trek, she has left an indelible impression upon the universe her legendary husband created for us all to play in. She will be missed. Godspeed Mrs. Roddenberry, Gene is waiting.
I met her at a convention, and a year later when I saw her at another convention she actually remembered me, meeting my daughter and our conversation from a year earlier. She was a very nice person (which is a generic thing to say – so sorry for that – but she was genuinely decent and nice!). She was a great actress who really inhabited the parts she played and did a wonderful job. She was a fun person who laughed a great deal.
I think counselor Troi would say that our grief will only last a while, while the joy at the memories of her will last a lifetime.
She is with Gene now, and for that I am grateful.
