Blur reunites: YES!

Blur_lLess YES! is that Blur is only reuniting for a single U.K. concert in July (so far). Whatever, that’s still a hell of an improvement over the past five years of interminable "will they"/"won’t they" waffling from one of my favorite bands. I loved both the Gorillaz albums that frontman Damon Albarn recorded during the hiatus, and I even dug guitarist Graham Coxon’s solo projects, yeah, yeah, but there’s nothing like the real thing for a nostalgic fan.

Tickets for that lone outdoor reunion show go on sale early tomorrow morning. I certainly don’t want to take any chances here…but I’m also not quite sure I can swing a plane ticket to London, what with the economy and all. So, um, anybody out there want to start a collection fund for me? (Kidding! Sort of.) More seriously, are any American Britpop-heads contemplating dropping enough cash to see this show yourselves, or will you just wait for the reunion album which I very sincerely hope might be possibly coming soon? After the jump, to whet your appetites, is the greatest music video of all time, Blur’s "Coffee & TV."

More on Blur:
EW gave their last album, 2003’s Think Tank, a C+ (which I personally think was way harsh)
EW gave 1997’s self-titled Blur a B+ review
Clark Collis rated Blur’s attempts to go Clockwork Orange in the video for "The Universal"

I saw Blur at Wembley on their Singles Tour years ago. This can’t possibly compare to that.

Damon Albarn is the most under-rated musican of this generation. Anything he makes is great, this Blur album might be better than that garabge coldplay put out this year.

I bought tickets (they opened it up to email subscribers on Wednesday) and am most certainly going.
Plane ticket to and hotel rooms in London: A bajillion dollars
    Seeing a reunited Blur: Priceless

GOD. I want to go so badly. I’m waiting on tickets…apparently they’re gonna do a UK tour to lead up to Hyde Park, so maybe I’ll be able to go to one of those shows. I also have NO MONEY, but I’m trying to figure something out. I really really really hope they make at least one trip to America (New York, ANYWHERE) because I’d def go then. OMG SO EXCITED.
