“Yes, I did it. I killed Yvette. I hated her sooo much…it it…the feel—it. Flames. Flames! Flaaaames…on the side of my face, breathing, breathless, heaving breaths.” —Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), Clue. (Check out the 25-second YouTube clip of Kahn’s classic line-reading after the jump!)

Quote of the Dasy?! As always, “Clue” is one of my favorite movies and Madeline Kahn is beyond great in it.
That’s one plus two plus *one* plus one.
Agreed. I think “Clue” is a woefully underrated movie (being based on a board game and all).
This is my favorite movie and one of my favorite quotations from an already quotation full script! Love it!
Yay! Clue! Am I the only one that arranges the weapons in the rooms used in the film every time I play the game?
Hah! Over my dead body.
Colonel Mustard: Who would want to kill the cook?
Miss Scarlet: Dinner wasn’t THAT bad…
Mr. Green: So it was you. I was going to expose you.
Wadsworth: I know. So I choose to expose myself.
Colonel Mustard: Please, there are ladies present!
Man, what a FANTASTIC clip! That made my day, already!!
Wadsworth: “To make a long story short…”
Everyone: “Too late!”
GREAT movie.
Quote of the millenium- my favorite moment in one of the funniest movies I ever saw. My sister and I would watch it over and over.
Wadsworth: I’m not shouting! Alright I am. I’m shouting, I’m shouting, I’m shou-
I love you guys for making this a quote of the day. This movie will always be one of my favorites.
“I’m the butler.”
“And what exactly do you do?”
“I buttle, sir.”
Wadsworth: How many husbands have you had?
Mrs. White: Mine or other womens’?
Wadsworth: Yours.
Mrs. White: Five.
Wadsworth: Five?!
Mrs. White: Yes, just the five.
LOVE IT!!!
heheheheh, love it! and all the quotes from everyone else. I think I have to watch the movie tonight when I get home
Mrs. Peacock was a man?!?!? My favorite movie of all-time!
I was thinking of this movie yesterday. Great movie.
Wadsworth: But, he was your second husband. Your first husband also disappeared.
Mrs. White: But that was his job. He was an illusionist.
Wadsworth: But he never reappeared!
Mrs. White: He wasn’t a very good illusionist.
One of my all time favorite movies. It’s like comfort food.
The best quote from my favorite cult movie – thanks, EW!
Oh my god shut up! I was just doing this last night, after wondering aloud what in the sam hill was wrong with me that I did not own “Clue” on DVD.
just watched this movie the other night! mr. body’s body! it’s missing!
Ha! For the last ten or so years, my friends and I have dropped this line at seemingly every opportunity; it’s one of our absolute favorite movie quotes and has totally become one of those inside joke/bonding things that friends do. Love it!
This is always the quote that comes to mind first when I think of this movie. Madeline Kahn’s botched delivery is flawless! I remember watching this movie on Comedy Central all the time. It’s definitely underrated.
My absolute favorite quote from that movie! Madeline Kahn was amazing.
My favorite movie ever!!! Actually, I just watched it this weekend with my husband who hasn’t seen it nearly as many times.
So glad to see there are other people besides me that go a little nutty for this movie. So quotable. One of my favorites (besides this one, of course) from Mrs. White: Husbands should be like Kleenex – soft, strong, and disposable.
“Communism was just a red herring.” God, I love Clue. So many great lines, so many reasons to adore the movie.
I LOVE “Clue!” Madeline Kahn was brilliant in that film.
Glad to see so many Clue-philes here! This is one of the most quotable movies ever!
“Are you afraid of a fate worse than death?”
“No, just death. Isn’t that enough?”
Possibly my favourite comedy scene – just watching that YouTube video had me laughing hysterically. Coincidentally, I was telling a friend at work about the film yesterday, and today brought the DVD in for her to watch. And then I find this post.
