Back on Valentine’s Day, you may or may not recall, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that formerly famous rapper Coolio can fix a mean Caprese salad, courtesy of his Web series "Cookin’ With Coolio." Kick rhymes in Michelle Pfeiffer’s face and master the kitchen? Is there anything this man can’t do? Well, I found my answer to that question when I watched his boring new reality series Coolio’s Rules, which premiered last night on Oxygen, of all places. Oof. I mean, dude came off as more immature than his teenage kids. And that pasta sauce he whipped up looked nasty!
But hey, maybe I’m just holding Coolio to an unfairly high standard. Anyone else catch Coolio’s Rules last night? Will you be tuning in again next Tuesday?

I surprisingly like the show. I think it’s kind of sad the way his kids run all over him, but it’s also hilarious at the same time. His kids are funny and real. It’s interesting to see a rapper going through the motions of trying out a new career. The image of a Black father with his kids is one that I always welcome on television.

I really didnt want to see another reality show, but I just happened on Coolio’s Rules a few weeks back and cant seem to stop watching it. It is definitely one of the more entertaining former celeb reality shows out there with non of the usual “who screwed who” sexual drama. Chef Coolio is hugely entertaining and his recipes are not half bad either
