I don’t think you’re in a position to judge (pun intended). I, for one, would not like to be in such a position (upside-down, suspended from a wire!) either
… I think what he’s doing, is crazy, unnecessary, and should not be allowed, much less encouraged. It is of course being done to feed the ever-hungry monster that is “reality” television. However, your cynicism shows clearly why people like David keep pushing the envelope – for apparently getting people like you entertained, amused or amazed in any way shape or form, would take a lot more even than this? Yikes. Maybe you should get a creative life of your own?
What time were you there? I was there at about 1 pm today and saw the SAME thing. He was standing on a platform drinking water and Gatorade (from separate bottles) and chatting with doctors. People in the rink were saying “he’s giving up”. When it became clear he wasn’t, a middle aged man in said “wow, *I* could do that if I’m allowed breaks like this!”.
The only “Magic” is how he continues to draw an audience when the only danger in his stunts is the prospect of dying of boredom.

Those people who enthralled by this performance and defend this man as someone who should be revered probably spend a night on the town mesmerized by watching paint dry on the local light pole. The only reason you watch paint dry? Because actually watching someone paint is bad for your weakened hearts. Freedom of speech is a great thing, I just wonder if some people really understand what it takes to actually create the thoughts behind their words…

This only shows that if you tell enough people that you are selling a bridge in Brooklyn, there will be some who believe it.
Now, if he would light himself on fire, that would be interesting.
Let’s all face it. The ONLY reason people are still watching David Blaine is to see if something goes wrong. It is not about the acts but the accidents.
He get to have breaks? really? So much for “endurance” He should just go ahead and dive and get it over with.
This is stupid. Unless he’s constantly contained for 60 hours WITHOUT A BREAK this doesn’t even count. WTF is wrong with our culture that we can accept lies as evidence of supposed truth?

Everyone needs to leave this man alone what he does in his life is his problem not yours. If you have a problem with how he’s lives hos life then don’t look. If you think he’s a waste of time then don’t waste your time writing things about him on the computer because it makes you look all the more dumb because you went to go see what he was up to like everyone else. I respect him because I have met him and have spoken to him and just like everyone else he is human but perfers to live his life on edge. Who can blame him I think its amazing. Whoever thinks diff can stuff it.
