Any of you out there Bones fans? Thought so. So if you happened to miss it Wednesday night, Hulu — which is partnering with EW.com in advance of EW’s Fall TV issue — is streaming the two-hour season premiere that takes FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and Dr. Temperance ”Bones” Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to London. Watched the episode, loved it. Now where is my Bones TV Watch?

Definitely missed the recap as well. As for the episode…it was engaging but at the same time it came across that they were all trying just a little too hard.
I thought it was a pretty good episode overall, but there were some things I wasn’t crazy about. And I felt like they were trying WAY too hard to work Sweets in.
I think it was ALMOST good enough to make up for the crappy way the last season ended.
And I’m with everyone who asks – where’s the recap???
Maybe that’s why we don’t have a recap- EW thought it was last night.

I spent most of my Thursday looking for the recap to show up. I had to DVR my Project Runway because there was no way I was missing the first episode back. You’ll need to not count all my page refreshes as new visitors to the site since I spent ALL DAY bouncing back and forth between popwatch and the tv watch screen. I know, I need a life.
I was really looking forward to that recap. BOOOO! And yeah, Hodgins and Angela’s break-up was just stupid. Why can’t they just be happy? Why can’t we see how marriage treats them???
I know I’m just echoing what everyone else said… but the break-up was not believable. Seemed like a contrivance to introduce conflict; maybe they didn’t think we’d continue to be interested if Angela and Hodgins actually got to be happy. I love Bones, but thought the episode was too long and tried too hard. On the other hand, I really do LOVE Bones and I’m excited for the new season, especially if we can move past the debacle of last season’s ending. And finally… WHERE’S THE RECAP?
i, too, was looking forward to a recap. loved booth’s breakdown in the middle of a london street. and i actually liked seeing more of sweets – he cracks me up. i’m not really feeling the “new” guy to replace zack…but then again, i really didn’t like the way they got rid of zack and prefer to think it never happened.
angela and hodgins’ breakup – um, wtf? what is the point of that?? are the writers still annoyed at the strike and that’s why they’ve not only gotten rid of zack, but they’re inching towards canning angela (because, really…who doesn’t think that she could end up leaving the lab at some point?)
It would have been perfectly fine to stretch it to two eps (considering all the commercial breaks), but I enjoyed it – lots of little nuggets (Pritchard telling /recommending Brennan to “climb Everest… wink wink) to chew on. Regarding the break-up it blows, but it should be fun to see the fall out. Hodgins getting all flustered and uppity when Angela starts dating others (and vice versa).
I’ve been a fan of Bones from the very first episode. But I was not happy with this season premiere episode. I thought the whole tone of it was wrong. All the ’sex stuff’ seemed REALLY gratutious to me. And phony. And the way they portayed all the British characters was so… I dunno, they just seemed like such caricatures. Written as if the writers had never actually been to the UK or met anyone from there. And the way they presented them to us (the audience), it seemed so condescending to us, like “these characters are so FOREIGN, we have to spell things out for our poor American viewers”. Very dissappointing for a show that’s usually very entertaining. Better luck next episode, I hope.

I’m adding my voice to the outcry for a mini TV Watch. Where is Abby West??? Is she gone? I loved last season’s Bones watch!
I’ve always found the Hodgins/Angela relationship stupid (though I like the characters), so the break up doesn’t bother me, even though it felt forced. I got really tired of all the Hodgins/Angela/Cam/Angela’s ex stuff- a total waste of time. Anyway, even though I def. have my own opinions on the episode, I would love to see to a recap!
When one person asked for a recap, it was fine. But, repeating it every comment here, is bordering on creepy. Wow. Was this a weekly thing? TV Guide dumped ‘Bones’ recaps, too. The season premiere was weak, anyway. After the horrible season finale, you think they would have wanted to make an awesome season premiere. They failed.
If you can, watch it on Fox.com (on Demand) first. Leave hulu for last, because it borders on infringement violations. But Hulu is a great place for the other episodes.
I think people are making the Hodgela breakup just a little overblown. Things happen. People break up. But I think that we will all enjoy the fall-out and the get-back-together episode.
