It’s been a minute since we’ve had a real Box Office Challenge toss-up here at EW.com, but this week was neck-and-neck between The Dark Knight and newcomer The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. 53% of you correctly predicted that Batman, for the third week in a row, would trounce the competition, with $42.7 mil for last Friday through Sunday, as opposed to $40.5 mil for the Frasier flick. Overall it was a tough week, with The X-Files dropping from 5th to 9th place and Swing Vote’s surprisingly weak performance, so big ups to rtsantos for picking the winners!
Next week’s outlook looks to be a little hazy, with the stoner comedy Pineapple Express rolling out in theaters. Think you can guess the winner? And win free DVDs? Predict the weekend’s top ten in our Box Office Challenge and feel like a superhero!

Surprised that Swing Vote tanked? I forget, is it 1992 still? Is Kevin Costner still a star?
I am going to call it for Pineapple Express. If for no other reason than that the trailer might be one of the most well made ever.
I agree with James — the only surprise with Swing Vote is that it made any money at all!
Best trailer ever? I can’t even recall a single detail. Tim must be hitting the pineapple a bit himself…
