Benicio Del Toro and Emily Blunt were on hand at Comic-Con Friday to discuss The Wolfman, their remake of Lon Chaney Jr.’s 1941 film. Del Toro (yep, he’s the hairy guy in the picture to the left) told the crowd that he came on board the film because he’s a Chaney fan. That, and "the money was right," he joked. Once he and Anthony Hopkins were attached, costar Blunt said that joining the film was an easy decision to make because she figured she could do a decent job of running and screaming. Del Toro added that one of the biggest differences between this Spring 2009 film and the ’40s version is that his installment will be more of a period piece that goes back to the 1800s.
The highlight of the panel (in which some footage was shown) was when a set of twins stood up to ask a question and were projected on the giant auditorium monitors. Blunt asked them for their names…and then what they were doing later. Here at Comic-Con, dreams, for some, do come true.
