Box Office Challenge: 'Hellboy II' smokes 'em...but what about Batman?

Meetdave_lWhile Hellboy II: The Golden Army set the box office on fire, most of the players in last weekend’s installment of EW.com’s Summer Box Office Challenge saw their picks go up in flames. The season’s busiest weekend so far saw a mere 62 percent of participants correctly predict that Guillermo del Toro’s comic-book fantasy sequel would wind up at No. 1, and surprise performances by Journey to the Center of the Earth (a strong No. 3) and Meet Dave (a weak No. 7) further futzed with the results. So it’s with great applause that we congratulate "nellarmonia" for having won the week — with a perfect score, to boot. Way to go, Nell!

As for this coming frame, things should get a bit easier for everyone, as The Dark Knight is ready to open on Friday, possibly with record numbers. (After all, early reviews are strong, including a solid A- from EW’s Owen Gleiberman.) But where do you think the rest of the releases will rank? Get on your Bat Computers and make your picks in our game by Friday at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Why don’t I see ‘The Dark Knight’ or Hellboy on this list?

Why does anyone in Hollywood continue to allow Eddie Murphy to act?

Wait. Was anyone really “surprised” that Eddie Murphy’s new movie has done poorly? Aside from Shrek and Dreamgirls, Eddie’s career has been on a family comedy slump for the last few years. After Pluto Nash lost some $90+million, I figured his leading man days were over. There must be some producer who loved Gumby, Mr. Robinson and Axel Foley enough to keep allowing Eddie to make bad movies.
Can someone PLEASE cast Eddie in some good old fashioned R rated comedy? These “family” movies are proving to be the slow death of this once great actor’s career.

I think THE DARK NIGHT should easly make over $125mil through its 1st wkend and should also easly unset Iron Man as #1 pic of the year!
