My prob w/texting: the “callback” number is listed before the message. Therefore, for first couple I sent my wife, she called me back!
Why I love texting: great way to stay in touch with my 18-yr-old son.
My eyes are bleeding from trying to decipher that mess. Is texting the new “If it’s too loud, you’re too old”? If you can’t decipher it, you’re too old?
I’m 40 and I love texting. But as an English teacher I have to text using proper spelling and punctuation. Sometimes I will text “Where r u?” and it bothers me! I could never text like the example above…I’m sure my brain would explode!
I’m so embarrassed. I text plenty but mine never look like that. I text to keep in touch w/kids & girlfriends, but I’m nowhere near the same league as shown above.

A national texting championship. Excuse me while I go in my bedroom, pull up the covers over my head, and weep silently for an hour or so.
I’m embarrassed that I actually understood all of that easily. When I text, I spell and punctuate everything correctly, which is slightly strange. I also send messages to people if I realize I spelled something wrong afterwards, i.e. a correction text message. I know, that’s weird.

Texting is fun, easy, and a great way to drop people quick notes when you don’t want to get caught up in a phone call. It’s like mini-email. I’m like some of the others though. It’s very difficult for me to text with the abbreviations. I usually use all of the correct punctuation and spelling. I sometimes abbreviate when I’m sending too long a message, but it bugs me. It also made me crazy when I couldn’t find the apostrophe on my old phone. I made sure I knew where it was on my new one before I got it.

I could never get into the full keyboard thing. While I was in the process of getting a new cell phone, I thought about buying the Navigator but I figured that my fingers would become very arthritic from texting. I settled on an LG flip phone, and I have not looked back. Besides, I don’t text often.

I’m not one to talk about time wasting habits, as I have many of them (including surfing numerous web sites on a daily basis), but texting’s one I will never understand. Ever. My boss told me one day that one of his friend’s daughter managed to text 13,000 text messages one month. That’s not a typo. If you’re going to waste time, at least do something half-productive with it.
As for the texting championship, that sounds as ridiculous and unnecessary an idea as a rock-paper-scissors tournament. Oh wait…
Ouch, 13,000 text messages in a month? My son’s plan gives him 1000 free texts, but they’re 15 cents each afterward. I don’t text much, so I didn’t add a text plan to my cell phone contract, but on the rare occasions when I do, I insist on proper capitalization, punctuation and spelling. I can’t abide using letters and numbers in place of words, not even in cell phone texts. When people use them in computer instant-messaging, it really annoys me.
I did decipher the “text”, but it took me a few extra seconds. And it made my brain hurt.

when i first started texting i had 400 a month, and soon went over my limit like $50 dollars, then when i got unlimited i just texted all the time.
and now i text a minimum of 13,000 a month.
and i COMPLETELY DISAGREE that it is a waste of time. i text multiple friends everyday, and it is a legit way to chat with my friends, see what theyre up to, make plans, and just talk. so just because you don’t understand texting (t3hdow), doesn’t mean it is not productive and a waste of time.
