I love her–she’s great! A lot of people during the competition said she was unrelatable, but she reminds me of the charismatic theatre people I used to hang out with. She’s also the best dressed and sexiest lady of the season. Go Syesha!
OMG!!! this interview didnt make me like her any better… I dont know why but i dislike her sooooooo much. Nevertheless she’s definitely the “Wonder woman” of AI season 7
“Like come on man!…I’m FUN!…” Wow, she doesn’t interview well at all. This did nothing positive for her. I respect her being a “tryer”, but man, she is terribly irritating.
I STILL don’t like her. Wow, it’s like we did her a grave injustice for not voting for her. Hmmmmm….
Sorry, I only made it halfway through Part 2.
still don’t like her but she did get shafted in the david vs david hype.
She’s young and ambitious. I hope she does well, but I need to cut her some slack for the lack of charm. It seems so effortless for DC and JC that I forget not every performer can pull it out. (Mariah, anyone?)
Syesha is truly multi-talented – a singer/actress/model/dancer, a quadruple threat! And she can sing in multiple genres of music. I predict she will be everywhere – Pop and R&B charts, movies, Broadway, you name it. The sky’s the limit for her!
i think simon didn’t like her – AT ALL. she was not my favourite contestant but she deserved more credit than she was given! they did limit her when they mentioned the broadway thing. at least she seems like a strong person. good luck for her.
I’m so pleased that we ended up with such a classy group of idols this year.
You know like I try to like maybe you know like her but something about like the way you know she relates to like the songs and people you know turns me like off.
Wow, I was just going to say how brutal this interview was to get through because of her “like” addiction. Syesha seems like an okay person, she’s certainly not gonna set the world on fire with her talent, but she REALLY needs some lessons in public speaking! Couldn’t even make it to part three.
Syesha was definitely the best dressed this year & looked great in everything she wore. I think I like her hair better when it’s straighter though. She may not have been one of my favorites, but that’s only because this season there was soooo much talent. Overall my favorite season ever!
Oh my! That was something akin to teeth grinding, nails on a chalkboard, or rubbing a balloon.
Hmm, well that was kind of interesting. The way Syesha interviews comes across as being a bit self-absorbed. Could be a misperception or lack of skill in interviewing.
I guess I’m always turned off when someone talks about sharing their “gift” or wanting people to see more of their personality. Just hits me the wrong way. Of course the two Davids also would answer questions about themselves but it didn’t come across as self-absorption. They had other observations and comments. I do wish her luck and success. She has tenacity and strength.
hi from u age
“A bit self absorbed” is exactly how I see her. I always feel bad for not giving her more of a chance because she’s an amazing vocalist, but she always seems so superficial and that was always off putting. I feel bad ’cause if that’s who she is that’s who she is. It doesn’t make her a bad person, and you can’t expect her to be deep and insightful if she’s not, but where there were other contestants on the show who were I’m always going to gravitate toward them more. I cringed when she said she was going to write her own songs ’cause I can’t imagine what she has to say that would be interesting, eloquent, and not cliche.
Wow…people are way too hard on her. I LOVE her. I love that she keeps it real & I would LOVE to hear new music from her. I don’t know her or anything, but I feel like I ‘get’ her. You’ve always got a fan right here, Syesha!
I think Syesha has a pretty good voice but I really don’t see her as anything more than a Broadway star, and not because the judges kept saying it. I can’t imagine what type of music she’ll do only because she never seemed to make any of the performance her own. I doubt she’ll get a record deal unless it’s an independent album only because it’s evident in the Itunes sales that she’s not selling much. I think Jason, Brooke, Carly, and Michael will be get record deals before she does. I also think that they need to get over the producer’s choice “sabotage” only because no matter what they chose, there was no way she’s more popular than the Davids to get more votes than them.
Wow. I did not expect her to come off like that. She seemed to pass a lot of blame around and was not, dare I say it, likeable. Huge contrast to Jason, Brooke and David A who were all introspective and gracious.
I did not like this interview at all. I think many people got this vibe from her throughout the competition and it turned them off. How on earth did she last until the final three?
Who the hell is Syesha? That no-talent no-fanbase screamer needs to go back to obscurity where she belongs, her 15 minutes are up.
Although I am a huge DC fan, Syesha was the only other Idol I picked up the phone and voted for. After being completely disrespected during Andrew Lloyd Webber week I just had to weigh in and vote. After facing bad reviews week after week, especially when you were giving it your all, and seeing DA get praised when he forgot lyrics.. no wonder she comes across as a little bitter. Wouldn’t you?
I think these interviews have helped made almost all of the contestants seem more likable, but Syesha definitely failed this test. I was annoyed by her and her responses (and please stop trying to shove down my throat how FUN you are). I really don’t see her having a career in popular music. I do think she is a talented stage performer, and I think she would do well on Broadway – which is certainly not an insult, as there are many people who’s life dream is to land on Broadway. But she is not “celebrity” material and she definitely doesn’t have that It factor.
econruth-DA missing lyrics during a performance is still superior to Syesha on her best performance. The difference is DA has a deep connection with the song and it show in his delivery. Syesha never seemed not to have that for me until the final four night.
Syesha’s longevity on AI was a big surprise to me. But the longer she was on the more her fantastic vocals were pleasantly revealed. She has a great tone and the ability to use it to the fullest. Its unfortunate that people thing only of Broadway as a secondary stage when in fact, only real singers with real talent can have a Broadway career. Pop and Rock stars may make bigger paychecks, but only those with real chops, vocal discipline and beautiful tone, and acting ability can become a Broadway star.
shes nice and talented.she’s trying too much to be liked, perhaps trying to gain fans that were pushed away during the show because the judges dislike her.
the likes and huumm, needs to be fixed right away but that is simple.
Good luck!
Weird, I actually really liked this interview. It’s a nice change of pace to see people be honest instead of regurgitate the same “Idol was great, my other contestants was great, the judges are great, Nigel is great, my future is great!” Kool-Aid.
oh my god, the delusion. it just oozes out of her. i can’t take it. hopefully this is the last i’ll see of her. go away. nobody “paid attention” because you were boring and mediocre. she got to the top 3 on pure luck. and she’s got a bit of the carly syndrome – never your own fault, but anyone and everyone elses.
Anna – you said it perfectly.
I thought she had the looks, talent and IT factor. She was the hottest girl on the show, especially with her hair down and I was surpirsed many were not as into her as I was. Her body is ridiculous.
econruth, Some of you Cook fans crack me up when you take every opportunity to slip in a little DA jab. Cook won. Be happy. Woohoo! Go celebrate with the other cougars. DA is perfectly happy with coming in second. What are you worried about? That DA will prove to be the success story in the long run?
I can’t figure it out.
It’s nice to see that Syesha is still a legend in her own mind. She’ll be fortunate to get a Broadway role, because I highly doubt her music career will go anywhere. She definitely does pass the blame on to others, doesn’t she?
