In preparation for the May 30 release of the Sex and the City movie, I thought it might be fun to revisit some classic scenes from the HBO series. Today’s clip — which follows a quick interlude of Miranda and Robert (Blair Underwood) watching Jules & Mimi — finds Carrie attempting to get restitution after her Manolo Blahniks are stolen at friend Kyra’s (Tatum O’Neal) baby shower. Yeah, it’s just a pithy answering machine message, but it’s one of my all-time favorite SATC moments. Or as Carrie puts it, "One giant step for me, one small step for single-womankind."

I wish Jules and Mimi was a real show.
I’m taking May 30 off work so my mom and I can go to the earliest showing of the movie. So excited!
I can’t wait to revisit Carrie and the girls @ the movie!!!
It’s so funny that you used that clip because my Sunday was spent watching old eps of the show on HBO on Demand, and that was one of the eps I saw yesterday, and my sister and I had a conversation about how stupid and pretentious it was that she was required to take off her shoes.
Oh how I wish Manolo Blahniks still cost only $485.
I’m trying to resist watching all of my favorite eps over the weekend- resistance may be futile! Thanks for a little “Sex” in my morning, Slezak!
i own those shoes!
What would we do without Slezak?
I loved this episode because of its defense of singlehood. My sister’s wedding cost upwards of 50K, and that didn’t include the gifts. What do I get as a single person? A ficus tree.
Anyone else feeling a little snarky that the address label on this weeks EW covered up the ladies shoes? lol
Yes! I’m definitely a Charlotte with how I dress and was very disappointed when I couldn’t see her shoes!
Thanks for the clip! I think my all time favorite episode is when Burger breaks up with Carrie on a post-it note. With Carrie’s classic line in the diner: “Paper cover’s rock” and puts it on Charlotte’s newly engaged hand!
