I’m warning you. Don’t click on the following link for this highly addictive online game called Flight of the Hamsters. (And damn you, Metafilter, for the link!) You won’t be able to stop playing. Not even when your supervisor scurries over to your desk to investigate the little hamster cheers emanating from your computer every time one of the little guys gets launched into the air for an exciting airborne adventure. You’ll be sitting there, enthralled, ignoring your morning deadline. Your boss will grimace, grumble something ominous about said deadline. You’ll be frustrated because you just missed the pink inflatable ball that would’ve carried your furry friend another 10 feet. You’ll click again — just once more time, just to see if you can better your score! — and before you know it, security will approach with a big cardboard box, asking you to pack your belongings and go home. Which you’ll do. And then you’ll get right back on your computer and play Flight of the Hamsters again. Until you end up living in a cardboard box and cursing the hamsters, cursing PopWatch, and cursing me. But you won’t be able to say I didn’t warn you.

OMG I LOVE this game- ya’all have to try it , you will be HOOKED !!!!!
So, pretty much like the Yeti Sports game that’s been out for several years? The plains one? Giraffe hits penguin like a croquet ball, penguin can soar under giraffes, giraffes can catch the penguin in their mouths and sling him along, have to go over elephants and trees, snakes serve as springboards. Like that?
OK, it took me 10 hamsters to hit one and it only went 13 feet. Luckily, I am at work until 5pm today…

I’m easily amused…and this game is cracking me up. Of course, most of my hamsters go 0 ft. How do you get them to pick up a toy once they’re in the air?

Yup. In fact, Cartoon Network made this game a couple years ago to promote their Operation: Kids Next Door cartoon. (CN.com has a ton of other time-wasting games like this — not that I’ve ever wasted valuable company time playing ‘em…)
Ah someone else who understands the utter addictiveness of this game! I have spent more than a few hours trying to better my score (which was over 500 once). I especially enjoy using Wagner during the hamster flight.

how do get the skateboard to work?
This is so cool! So far my far one is only 68 feet and I am not sure how that even happened
I’m getting better, my record for one is 91 feet. But how in the world did someone get over 500? I’ll just have to keep practicing, they don’t really expect me to work do they?

OK, I suck at this game, as my high score is currently only 88 feet (after 3 games). However, I can’t stop laughing while I’m playing, which seriously breaks my concentration. Look for me to improve (and end up in the cardboard box on the street) once I can stop the giggles.
