Las Vegas celebrates its 100th episode tonight (NBC, 10 p.m.), and even if you stopped watching the show years ago, you might want to check out my trip down memory lane with creator Gary Scott Thompson (click here). He used the phrase "The Great Nipple War of the first season"— that’s all I’m sayin’.
Something we chatted about that’s not in that piece is one of his favorite episodes, the first season finale. You remember: Danny (Josh Duhamel) is going off to war, and he says goodbye to everyone in the casino but Mary (Nikki Cox), who’s fighting back tears. Then there’s a knock on her door, and Danny walks in for the sex scene we’d all been waiting for. Thompson said that episode almost didn’t get made: "I remember a bunch of execs saying ‘The war might not even be going on by the time this show comes back for Season 2.’" That’s one time you wish the network was right.
Enough of that heavy stuff. In typical Las Vegas fashion, let’s abruptly lighten the mood! Share your favorite moment from the show’s five-year run below. I’ll confess that I bailed before Lara Flynn Boyle joined the cast, and now I’m kinda regretting it. They flew the woman off the roof of a building and crashed her headfirst into a shoe store??? Awesome.
