Who's your 2007 fashion icon?

Urie_lYes, it’s time for another edition of Create a Year-End List. Today’s focus: Fashion icons. Do you spend long, boring meetings at work daydreaming about the dazzling wardrobe of a particular character from a movie or TV show? Or conversely, is there a real-life celeb whose red-carpet duds always leave you salivating?

For me, it’s Ugly Betty’s Marc St. James, the human embodiment of the word "dapper."(He’s pictured here wearing PopWatch’s pick for Fall TV’s Best Outfit.) It’s doubtful Marc could afford a closet full of threads this chic on a magazine assistant’s salary, but maybe he cashed in that SUV Willie bought for him back in season 1and blew the whole stack at Bergdorf Goodman. Also, the hair? The perfect combination of technical difficulty and artistic impression.

Still, I’m guessing those of you opposed to mixing a multitude of plaids in one total look see things a little differently. So if not Marc, then tell me, who’s your 2007 fashion icon?

Halle Berry. Still pregnant, but already showing off the twins.

  • beetlebume

Chuck from Pushing Daisies. Also every single outfit on Gossip Girl is noteworthy.

  • Amanda

This is an obvious one, but I love everything Serena on “Gossip Girl” wears. And I am weirdly obsessed with the wardrobe of Christina from “Ugly Betty.” I love how she wears dresses and doesn’t look too done up. I wish I could do that.

  • Lynn

Definitely Carrie Underwood. It seems like no matter what she wears, be it casual or something on the red carpet, she looks absolutely gorgeous!

  • Ceballos

    Christian Troy on “Nip/Tuck”

  • Rae Rae

i love what blaire wears in Gossip Girls. Some of her stuff may be a bit preppy, but some of her dresses are just absolutely fabulous!

  • brittany

    deffinately Gwen Stephani. shes awesome!!!

  • Leroy

Blair’s luscious hair from “Gossip Girl.” It looks gorge, but I wonder if it feels greasy or sticky…

  • SupieLOVES

    gah-duh! posh spice

  • Maegan

Chuck from Pushing Daisies…I love all of her cute dresses!

  • donner

I love that suit ensemble…its fantastically perfect!!!

  • Alyson

Definitely agree with Chuck from Pushing Daisies — her dresses are all absolutely adorable.
Not in TV Land, you have adore Rachel Bilson’s ability to put together an outfit.

  • Martin

Amanda in the purple mini dress on Ugly Betty.
Amy Adams making her grand bal entrance in Enchanted.

  • Martha

I’ll third or fourth Chuck from “Pushing Daisies,” though I’m not as big on her current Janis Joplin phase…go back to Grace Kelly already! Cate Blanchett is quite the real-life style icon – whether you love or hate what she wears, it’s always noteworthy and her hair and skin always look ridiculously perfect.

  • Music Man

    ADAM SESSLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She may not be my favorite character, but I love Julia’s wardrobe on Nip/Tuck. She always looks stylish and elegant. Now if she would just eat a damn sandwich. Or three.

  • Amber

I think Mark on Ugly Betty always looks fabulous.

  • andy

the entire cast of gossip girl. the soapy stories just get in the way of what the show is really about-the amazing clothes. blake lively and leighton meester are the new fashion icons-watch your back carrie bradshaw!

  • chandler

Victoria Beckham isn’t a mere fashion icon, she’s a fashion GOD. She is both adorable and fierce. I guess David Beckham looks good on anyone.

  • Jessie

My vote’s for Sienna Miller. She can be glamourous, but also bohemian chic. Loved her as Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl.

  • Kate

I adore just about everything that Lauren and Whitney wear on The Hills.
And, Reese Witherspoon had an amazing year on the red carpet.

  • Nose

I’ll throw my hat into the ring for Chuck on Pushing Daisies. I love the retro 50s dresses, head scarves and sunglasses. I also love Olive’s cute bob. I love the whole aesthetic of the show.

  • Suz

Nicole Richie (2006 style icon) has officially been replaced by Serena on Gossip Girl. I think I only watch this for the clothes! Posh is a close second.

  • GeeMoney

I’m going to go with Victoria Beckham. Even if you don’t like a lot of her fashion looks, every once in awhile she’ll suprise you.

  • Lena

Chuck and her demure 1950s frocks from “Pushing Daisies.” Anyone from “Ugly Betty’s” Mode, but specifiacally Christina and Amanda. Barney and his suits from “How I Met Your Mother.” And I love Samantha’s outfits on “Samantha Who?” She might have forgotten her entire life but the girl remembers how to dress well.

  • Lena

    Wow, I really butchered “specifically,” didn’t I? :)

  • phredd!!

My choice is Chuck! But not from the annoyance that is “Pushing Daisies” (I gave PD more than 1 shot, and couldn’t sit through more than 5 minutes). I mean Chuck from “Chuck”! No one makes “Geek Squad Chic” look as sexy as Chuck!! Rrrrrrrrrrrr ;-P

  • HollabackGirl

Gwen Stefani is a fashion icon. She’s daring and edgy…a free-spirited trend-setter, no doubt.

  • Kaitlin

LOVE just about everything that Blair has worn on Gossip girl. She always looks pulled together and at the crest of fashion. Just love, love, love it.

  • talyor

SJP will always be a fashion icon. I loved her appearance on Project Runway. And I cannot wait for the SATC release this spring!
