iPod inspection!: Please press 'shuffle' now!

Hoff_lIt’s been a month since we last played a game of "iPod Inspection," and today, I thought it might be fun to just hit the old "Shuffle Songs" function, and see what my little silver friend has to say about me. So without further ado…

Susanna Hoffs (pictured),"Only Love"
OmaraPortuondo, "Siempre en Mi Córazon"
Anastacia,"I’m Outta Love"
CrystalWaters, "The Boy From Ipanema"
Madonna, "Hollywood"

Alrighty then!Apparently, my iPod is saying I’m gayer than a tangerine wearing a feather boashopping for ginger bodywash at Origins, but I think most of you already knewthat. So moving right along, what are the first five songs you get when you hit’shuffle,’ and what do these tracks reveal about who you are (if anything)?

  • Nicole

    The Gufs, “Stars”
    Dashboard Confessional, “Don’t Wait”
    Mandy Moore, “Gardenia”
    Christina Agulirea, “Hurt”
Jessica Simpson, “I Belong to Me”
The only thing I can deduct is that I like whiney boy bands and pop starlets. Which is pretty true to reality I suppose.

  • A. Campbell

    Wilco, “Candy Floss”
Jon Brion, “Moana Chimes” (Punch-Drunk Love soundtrack)
    Van Halen, “Jump”
    Tom Waits, “Dog Door”
Belle & Sebastian, “Sukie in The Graveyard”
Just about right- my 20.3 days of music is probably about 1/5 soundtracks, and features almost 30 hours of 80s. Most is alternative pop & rock… novelty, oldies, and easy listening (mainly Ella Fitzgerald) make up the rest.

Let’s Go Get Stoned- Ray Charles
I’m Gonna Always Love You- The Muppets Take Manhattan

    Brass Monkey-Beastie Boys
    All Eyez on Me-2Pac

    Mika “Stuck in the Middle”
Death Cab for Cutie “A Lack of Color”

Besides the fact that my iPod decided to be nice and reveal the good songs to the PopWatch community, I’m guessing it’s saying that I’m nostalgic for either The O.C. or the ’80s.

    Lucky Me by Sarah Slean
Bodies Hit the Floor by Girl Talk

Well, I still don’t have an IPod, though I am on the verge of giving in and buying one at last. But Michael, I just want to thank you for that 1986 picture of Susanna Hoffs. For this 80’s child, it brought back memories of my greatest celebrity crush! It helped that the Bangles were a great band, but even if their music sucked, that was one smokin’ hot chick! Now my Monday is better!

  • Allison

“Tear in Your Hand” – Tori Amos
