So this morning, I got the most entertaining death threat ever — delivered fresh to my email inbox — in the form of a surprisingly sophisticated little video clip. Thankfully, it wasn’t from a rabid David Caruso fan, furious with my recent blog post about his failure to score an Emmy nod, but rather, part of a nifty (albeit twisted) promotional campaign for the premiere of Dexter (overseas, I think).
My best guess is that Dexter is angry because I still haven’t watched the last six episodes of his first season on Showtime. But I’m planning to — before the summer is over. Now stop writing my name in blood on the wall, dude!
Anyway, I’m wondering what everyone else thinks about this campaign (click here to check it out for yourself): Would you send this to someone you love, or is it too disturbing to be taken lightly?

I’d only send it to someone who watches Dexter. But everyone SHOULD be watching this amazing show!!!
Wow that is disturbing. I’m not sure that’s something to be taken lightly.
But that’s my feeling overall about this show too. I LOVE IT, but I’m kind of creeped out that I do.
Slezak, I can’t believe you still haven’t seen those last 6 hours. You have no idea what you are missing.
Oh my, be careful there are a handful of real nutty Caruso fans out there who will come for you.
My personal feeling is that if Dexter is after you, you probably did something to deserve it.
Are you kidding?! I totally sent that to my husband! Of course, I wouldn’t send that to someone like my mom.
Wow what do you know I got on to for hating Caruso! Look at my post on link at the top of the page relating to Caruso
Slezak, forget the Caruso fans, I smell the work of Carrie Underwood lovers…
No, the real Caruso fans are the worst. They’ll report you to Home Security. If ever someone named Lacy posts on your blog – you better hide. She is the nuttiest of the bunch.
would it be bad if I sent this to my boss when I leave?
As far as I am concern, this is the best waste of company time ever! I have sent it to friends, foes and frienimes alike.
Oh, that is AMAZING. But I have a somewhat twisted idea of what is funny, so I probably wouldn’t forward it out of an abundance of caution. I wish someone had sent it to me, though..
Are you sure Matt Damon wasn’t behind this? Or that Ardvark?
I sent this to my mom while she was at work and her and a coworker watched it together. My mother laughed, her co-worker was horrified since she doesn’t watch Dexter
Well, if I hadn’t just been getting threats from someone who was also making harassing phone calls to me, I would probably have found this funny, since all of that scary stuff is new to me, but it frankly cuts a little too close to the bone. Certainly give them credit for originality, though.
