At the TCA panel for Fox’s upcoming laffer Back To You, Patricia "everyone-calls-me-Patty" Heaton shared that during her lean college years she edited film for a local news affiliate in Cleveland. The best part? The sing-songy opening sequence that she likened to The Mary Tyler Moore Show‘s theme song (though we see a little proto-Austin Powers and a lot of Ron Burgundy). Check it out!

Gib Shanley is my new hero.
I grew up in Cleveland and remember the Catch 5 song and all of these personalities (though not that commercial).
I was going to say, that can’t be the actual opening to the news…that has to be a promo. Wow.
Patricia Heaton may be the one conservative Republican in Hollywood who seems to have a sense of humor about herself. That was a funny bit of vintage cheese. Thanks, Patty, for the laugh!
This was so enjoyable that it’s hard to believe it’s connected to Patricia Heaton.
It was a Partridge Family/HR Pufinstuf/Jefferson Airplane moment for me…all rolled into one groovy minute.
Far out.
