Waitress (April 27) The Sundance sensation from late actress-director Adrienne Shelly stars the delightful Keri Russell (pictured) as a pregnant, pie-making artiste, which in itself makes the movie a must-see for me, but the added presence of Cheryl Hines and Nathan Fillion doesn’t hurt, either. That said, this trailer feels oddly disjointed to me, and aside from the closing kicker from Russell about a bad-food list, it’s a little light on laughs. Is it time to demand a recut?
The Reaping (March 30) Dead livestock! Rivers of blood! A wild-eyed mother who wants two-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank to kill her baby! I can’t say I found the trailer for this Biblical-plague thriller particularly frightening (not with robotically delivered howlers like "I’ve investigated 48 miraculous occurrences, with 48 scientific explanations"), but the swarms of locusts made my skin crawl a little. Anyone putting this on their must-see list?

This just serves to remind me that I can’t watch Felcity everyday on Oxygen anymore. I love Keri Russell, I heard she was going to be on Scrubs though, so maybe that will give me a fix. But seriously Oxygen channel, you need to put the two a day Felicitys back on.

I hate to say it, given the tragic death of Adrienne Shelly, but “Waitress” just looks kind of lame, at least from the trailer. The whole pie-schtick and small-town Southern accents seem really contrived.
I saw “Waitress” at Sundance and it was WONDERFUL! Very funny and touching. Don’t miss it! You can sum up Keri Russell in one word…lovable, beautiful, talented, adorable….ok, 4 words.
Seriously, that Reaping movie trailer came out in like June…I already decided I wasn’t going to see this when it was supposed to come out last August.

I too love Keri Russell & miss seeing her on my TV on a daily basis. Actually, wasn’t it the WE channel that carried Felicity in syndication? I just hope this small film comes to my small town.
When I see Waitress (and I will), it will be for Nathan Fillion. B/c he is one hot piece of man meat. Am I the only Firefly nut here?
