James Cameron, please get back to your day job

Speaking of the Oscar program, it’s nine years now since Titanic maestro James Cameron declared himself "the King of the World!" And while that distinction is still up for debate, there’s no denying that the director has done just about everything in the world during the past almost-decade — except make and release a feature film. He did do those giant-screen underwater documentaries, and a few weeks ago there was the big news that he’s finally putting together his long-awaited Avatar project. Yet now, just as I was starting to get psyched for that, he comes out with this Discovery Channel doc on Christ’s supposed tomb. It sounds interesting enough, and I don’t want to get into speculating whether having made Titanic exactly qualifies Cameron to get all historical and scientific over Jesus. (Actually, what the heck: it doesn’t.) But I can’t help but thinking that old J.C. (James Cameron, that is) is just spinning his wheels here, still not fully decided on what to do next or how to do it. Of course, I can’t blame him for having trouble following up the biggest movie of all time, but let me offer this kick in the knickers: James, baby, time to finish with the nature films already and get back to the blockbusters!

Yeah, what the hell ever happened to Aquaman? I’ve been IMDB’ing that movie ever since they cast Vinnie Chase in the lead role.

I guess the Aquaman stint didn’t interest anyone else. It’s so lonely when no one else posts comments.
OOOOOONEE is the loneliest number, OOOOONE is the loneliest number that can ever be…

It was announced a couple months ago that his next movie, Avatar, is in preproduction. I think it has a summer ’09 release date lined up.

Cameron is a burnt-out A-hole who thought of nothing better to do than to team up with one of God’s lost sheep and attempt to make a joke of his son and everything he did. As a person of faith, I remember this: Blessed are those who are persecuted for following Christ, and F*cked are those who persecute!

Thank you! I’ve been arguing with every faith-wavering jerk in my life about this. It’s good to see that Cameron has actually angered them instead of perplexing them. There is no contest! The words are written in stone! The only NON-literal passages in the Bible are a few from the OLD Testament. Wake up, everybody!!! Christwas not buried under some Jew-forsaken hotel that was demolished in 1980! That is the fabrication of ignorant Christians and self-riteous Israelis who hate sharing the birthplace of God’s Son!
How about a documentary debating Abe Foxman’s burial site?!

Let me first start by stating that I am not religious at all. Reading your fanatical posts just now reinforces that belief. More people have been killed in the name of someone’s diety than from any other method. This “my team or die” attitude is the cause.
You really don’t need religion to make you act like a decent human being.
And let’s be honest, if Catholic Priests really believed that Christ was watching them, do you think it would be that hard for them to not put their hands down altar boys pants?
Another, less rhetorical question. Let’s just presuppose that Christ had a family, did not rise from the dead, etc. Does that REALLY lessen his message?
Peace, forgiveness, faith. These were the things that he taught. If he can see how man has distorted his message, he is doubtless upset with us.
