BROKEBACK SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE OSCAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, I’m still not over it.
I”m really so happy that Little Miss Sunshine made the final 5. I hope that the Oscars duplicate this same list. Doesn’t eveyone agree that clint has enough — two oscars for best picture and 2 for best director? If he takes a slot from any of these 5 pictures, it would be upsetting. Little Miss Sunshine all the way!
Totally thrilled that the Clint Eastwood Train appears to be derailing. A war movie at this time?!?! No thanks. Dreamgirls was a dream – can’t wait to see it again. I am very happy with all five choices.
P.S. I’m still not over Brokeback being robbed either…
TorontoTom, while I agree with you about the apparent derailing, the Academy loves to surprise us, often by going in a different direction than other awards… i.e. Million Dollar Baby came out of no where to get best picture. (so I would not say anything, lest a karmic wave comes back the other way.)
I have to laugh because the moment I saw the post and saw that she wrote the word “Brokeback” in it, I knew it was going to bring out peoples’ inner rage over last year.
people, it’s okay… we know it should have won the big O, it’s over, we know what happened, it’s gonna be all right…
I think what we all learned from last year is that critics’ groups and guilds are just voting for what movies were made by people they liked in genres they want to see or for films that have the promotional pull to get their attention, not based on merit… that’s the way the world works nowadays…
I was also outraged at Brokeback’s loss last year, then I saw it, and fell asleep. Who knew Gay Love could be a sedative.
