So last week, I wrote a new year’s resolution for Britney Spears, and if I’m being honest, it was pretty much an attempt to put off writing my own. (I wish I knew how to quit you, irresistible office vending machine, with your 25 cent handfuls of Peanut M&Ms!) Anyhow, while I continue to grapple with whether to commit to three or four weekly trips to the gym, let me try my hand at something a little less painful — my 2007 pop-cultural new year’s resolutions:
I, Michael Slezak, resolve to stop watching episodes (both new and repeat) of CSI: Miami. Yeah, I removed it from my DVR after Horatio’s Ridonk Rio Adventure, but my enduring love of Emily Procter (and the lure of Adam Rodriguez in a tight shirt) keeps causing relapses — and they’ve simply got to stop. I will also double the number of books I read in 2006, watch my first ever episode of (am I really admitting this?) 24 (don’t mock, I was on Team Alias!), and make time for An Inconvenient Truth and Deliver Us From Evil — two documentaries I really wanted to see, but kept making excuses not to. Oh, and I will also keep waving my Fantasia freak flag, because nobody does it better.
Okay, PopWatchers, your turn. What are you resolving to do when it comes to entertainment time in 2007?
