Flip-flopper alert! Rob Lowe (pictured) is slated to join the cast of Brothers & Sisters as a Republican senator — a far cry from his West Wing character, liberal idealist Sam Seaborn. He’ll be a romantic interest for Calista Flockhart’s Kitty, a part-time Republican TV personality and full-time (actually, often overtime) sister/daughter. I’ve kept up with B&S this whole season, but I’m much more likely to stick around to watch these two lovebirds wear coordinated sweaters and talk about Bush.
In other unlikely news, 50 Cent and Robert De Niro will co-star (go ahead, reread those last few words and gasp!) as police partners in New Orleans, a post-Hurricane Katrina buddy-cop thriller. The rapper made his film debut in last year’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, but his autobiographical character wasn’t too much of a stretch. So can he hold his own against a great? He’ll definitely want to reexamine the lyrics to his first hit single, "How to Rob."

New Orleans doesn’t sound like it can be any worse than “Showtime”, DeNiro’s last forray into “buddy cop” territory.
I was thinking about “15 Minutes” first, then Midnight Run. But Ceballos got the ball out of the park, Showtime was awful.
How can an actor as good as DeNiro willingly accept so many “bleh” roles? Is he hard up for work? Dude’s got his own Amex ads, the Tribeca Film Festival and a popular NYC restaurant! Through those connections my man should be able to find some amazing roles. Get this man a good indy director or “buddy” him up with Liotta, Pesci or Scorcese. I miss seeing Deniro in great movies.
Bobby..say it ain’t so
Deniro hasn’t been a “good” actor in quite some time. I think it’s Hollywood’s desperation for audience that 50 cent is getting work. I saw Die Trying and he was stiff, one-note, but that’s one movie I won’t be seeing. Besides, Deniro a cop? Nah!
Robert is becoming one of those actors who hasn’t met a script they didn’t like (Yes, I am talking to you John and Samuel). Truly disappointing.
Since all the comments so far seem to be for DeNiro, let me be the first to say, “Bring on the Lowe!”
Ok, so I’m probably gonna be criticized for making this comment, but I don’t care. Bring it on, mofos!
Does Brothers & Sisters REALLY need another pasty white guy? Isn’t the show already full with them?
Aren’t there any Black, Asian, or Hispanic Republican Senators? Ok, so maybe no, but hey it’s television! They can suspend reality…
LOL…”pasty white guys”…too true!!
It’s true, ALL the men are too much alike, VERY confusing, find myself spending too much time trying to figure out whose who instead of following the plot.
And is it just me or does anybody else find Calista Flockhart plain-jane? (she looks like a duck). The guys fighting over her keep saying how “beautiful” she is, but I’m just not seeing it.
I think its a cool idea, why not let us see if this all works out, 50 cent ur the man…
50 ur hot
