Holy crawfish, PopWatchers! According to the NY Post, Liza Minnelli has just signed on to guest-star on an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent that gets its ripped-from-the-headlines inspiration from the JonBenet Ramsey murder case, and subsequent creepy John Karr confession. (Thanks to TV Tattle for the heads up.) Liza will play the victim’s mother, and if she’s half as good as she was as Buster’s dizzy paramour on Arrested Development, this will mark the first ever tryst between my DVR and the Criminal Intent flavor of L&O.
Couple this news with Chevy Chase playing a Mel Gibson-esque movie star on original L&O later this season, and it looks like Dick Wolf’s franchise is becoming a career revitalizer for underemployed actors. I’d like to see American Pie graduates Tara Reid and Natasha Lyonne as pop-star sisters who try to evade questioning after their hard-driving manager/father gets arrested for the murder of an aggressive photographer. Or how about Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams as a temperamental supermodel whose assistant is hurled off a 40th-floor balcony during a crowded fashion-week party? What say you, readers? Who else could benefit from a Law & Order guest role, and how would you cast ‘em?

How about “Who’s the Boss” pipsqueak Danny Pintauro as a former boy bander accused of murdering the blogger who is outing him?
Law and Order is the new Love Boat.
Larry that is hilarious!! I think most people wish harm on Perez Hilton…
Law and Order IS the new Love Boat. That is true. Liza with any kid is a joke. Danny Pintaro as a Lance bas type would work. Oh I have got it! A Brooklyn library branch computer tech tries to break up a female gang brawl at her library only to get stabbed and killed by a female gang banger played by Raven-Symone. She gets arrested and the director of library services is forced to resign.
Rebecca de Mornay as a wildly controversial, bordering-on-hasbeen pop superstar who can’t get arrested on pop radio anymore; The road manager of her latest, wildly successful, career-revitalizing tour is found dead and the main suspect is a disturbed fan who is angry at the pop star’s latest on-stage antics, which are widely seen as anti-Catholic/anti-Christian.
Telly B, Rebecca DeMornay was already on L&O Criminal Intent as a woman with Munchausen’s Syndrome who tricked her husband into thinking he caused her paralysis. I like your idea though. How about Mackenzie Phillips instead? Or maybe Valerie Bertinelli? Saorry, those are the only two names I can come up with now.
