Dear AOL,
Just wanted to write you a quick note to say thanks for streaming Justin Timberlake’s Futuresex/Lovesounds at AOL Music. Back in the day, I would’ve had to bop on down to the local record store to preview the CD, and it would’ve resulted in me gettin’ jiggy in a place of retail, and more likely than not, inadvertently scaring innocent shoppers with shouts of "Get your sexy on!" Plus, believe me when I say, it never ends well when you try to execute a spin while wearing headphones attached to a kiosk.
Anyhow, the at-my-desk experience is definitely trumping the in-store. I actually did the robot at my desk listening to the title track, and threw caution to the wind by leaning back — like "Inmate 9481" at the VMAs! — in the middle of ”Lovestoned/I Think She Knows.” (Fortunately I have a very stable chair at my desk.) Even the rare down-tempo track, like the mournful ”(Another Song) All Over Again,” works well. Between Justin, Xtina, Beyonce, and Miss Jody Watley, it’s gonna be a month-long battle for the alpha-dog position in my CD player. I’ll let you know how it plays out.
Respeck,
Michael Slezak

I think that the remixer of his songs should go solo and release his own CD, ala Chemical Brothers and Crystal Method. The tracks are good without Justins cheese ball vocals.
Thank you for your very funny letter to AOL. I sat in my car when a local radio station played Love Stoned and danced the entire time. What a great song! As great as it is on a CD it is even better live. I cannot wait for the album to come out so I can listen to it over and over again! Thanks for the laugh!
Dear Slezak:
I find the letter writing to be quite hilarious. Please keep it up.
Lovingly,
Gretchen
P.S. Justin’s new album is the best thing since Vincent getting kicked off ProjRun.
I am curently having a dance party in my office. Good thing my officemate is out today. JT rocks my body
Justin, Xtina, Beyonce, and Miss Jody Watley? Wow, you have a really deep taste in music. You’re a Z100 guy, aren’t you.
I’ve been streaming this record for the last week at MTV’s the Leak. I love it and save for a couple of songs, the whole record is fantastic. I’ll sign my name at the bottom of your letter as well. Thanks Slezak!
I sure Beyonce sold alot of copies of “BDAY” this week cause “Futuresex/Lovesounds” is gonna topple the charts next week!!! I had reservations about the track with Three 6 Mafia, “Chop You Up” but the lyrics are so fun & entertaining I’m SOLD! “Lovestoned/I Think She Knows” & “Until The End of Time” were both incredible live. Timbaland was just warming up with Nelly Furtado’s “Loose” this summer, if he doesn’t dubbed producer of the year, he’s getting ROBBED BLIND!

i wanted nothing to do with this album, but i can’t deny the beat! i will certainly be spending the money to pick it up tomorrow.
I’ve resulted to downloading on Limewire each time I hear a real good song that I like: Beyonce, Fergie and Janet (won’t be buying their albums though).
But in this case, I think I’m going to buy the CD since Sexy/Back was such a good song. Thanks Justin for remembering the gays when you made your album; this one certainly appreciates it.
Everyone’s been positive… Don’t bring down the mood… They really like the CD… Don’t…
I CAN’T HELP IT! I HATE THE TIMBERFAKE!
Okay, sorry, I just had to get that out. The CD may be great, fantastic even, but I hate the Timberfake. I can’t get on this train with you Michael and the others. Have fun without me.
I am LOVING this new CD. A few tracks are MASSIVE Prince rip-offs. But I don’t care cos almost all of it makes me want to dance. My only complaint is that the CD should’ve come out in late May as it would have then been my CD of the summer.
OMG..are you guys kidding? His new CD is HORRID! I tried TWICE to listen to it and he has ZERO range. If I wanted to hear vintage Prince…I’d BUY vintage Prince. Can he do ANYTHING original? YUCK!
I really hope Weird Al puts out a song called “Osteoporous Hump” to spoof on Sexy Back. Where are you Weird Al?
Big Ups Justin. Not too shabby at all.

I LOVE “My Love”, however I still don’t get why “Sexyback” is a MEGA hit. However Slezak, I am proud of you for not giving into whatever your publication says. If you like it, then I’m glad you can say it, even if they were underwhelmed.
And to the person who pointed out the z100 qualities of Michael’s taste, I say, none of us are hopefully that commercial, it just happens to be a very exciting month for pop music.
I’ma stick with B’day until my own b’day. and thats in april.
I will never understand the appeal of Justin Timberlake to anyone beyond the bubblegum pop/teenybopper set. He has an incredibly annoying voice, cheesy dance moves and terrible songs. I just can’t understand why people who supposedly take music “seriously” give him any credit at all.
This CD is absolutely BLAZING! Timbaland has thrown down once again. He has helped make some of the best pop cds of the past few years including Brandy’s “Afrodisiac” from 2003, and Nelly Furtados “Loose” and now he can add :Futuresex” its go smoothly from retro/throwback mid tempo slow jams to slammin bangin dance tracks. I downloaded the album from a P2P site and I’m still going to buy it, it’s so worth it.
OK Everyone? Yeah Timberlake is a Mickey Mouse Club Kid. (act, sing and dance). Yeah, he first used inspiration from M. Jack then the Prince. But yo, the Kid is doing it. Bowie and Mike Hutchence, I hear it. Timberland is one of the greats(and overlooked, been doing it since the mid 90’s). The two Tims crafted a throwback sound of the 80’s mixed with updates for a funk/pop sound for modern times. I am a kid of the 70’s/80’s, who dances to hip/hop, funk and r&b/pop & I am feeling this. Both the Tims, musically and vocally STAMP it! Luv IT!
Thanks for the laugh Michael. I love it. And I love Future Sex/LoveSound. It is a fantastic cd and I have been playing it since last week. I plan to buy a couple of copies tomorrow. This cd is just whatthe music world needs. Yay Justin.
SLEZAK,
You are usually a real smart guy and that is why I come here and read your stuff, but Timberfake again???What is up with this lady that somehow always appear here??? If you really want to listen to a great new album by the Chicks latest or John Mayer´s new one.Don´t be actin´black ´cause you ain´t black mista!
I don’t get it. People say how much Justin has grown and how much his vocals have improved. Whaaaat?! His first single — inexplicably a mega-hit — doesn’t even feature Justin’s actual vocals, unless you confuse the computer with actual singing. And I’m beginning to believe that many people do: this CD is a bunch of blips, beats, and unimpressive vocals — and lots of rap. Growth in the music industry means breaking free from the box, and having guest rappers featured in most of your songs is definitely not growth, in my opinion. It’s standard fare. I’ll turn my attention to adult contemporary where I can actually hear people sing.
Justin Rocks! You freaks need to stop hatin’.
ahhh the sound of a bimbo 15 Paris Hilton-loving year old girl standing up for her favorite “male” artist even though his first new single is basically crap, he doesn´t even sing on it yet she hears the angels sing…young people need a brain like a crack addict need another hit seriously!
Ironically, Justin actually has a beautiful ballad towards the end of the disc addressing the use of crack titled “LOSING MY WAY”. Its probably one of the most profound songs I’ve heard all year. The more & more I listen to “Futuresex/Lovesounds” the more I LOVE it. I don’t really care if he sounds like a cross between retro Michael Jackson & Prince, if they were making HIT records today that sounded like this, then maybe I’d buy them as well!
