Jackée Harry turns 50 today. Fifty and fabulous, that is. Now for the love of all that’s holy, here’s hoping Marc Cherry gets smart and casts her as Wisteria Lane’s resident gossip. Or maybe Shonda Rhimes could work her in as a saucy Seattle Grace nurse. Maybe both! As this YouTube clip from her 227 days shows, Jackée’s certainly got the over-the-top comic chops to handle both assignments. ("A Christmas present you’d exchange?" "An olllllld man.") Alas, though, since I don’t have the power to make either dream a reality, Ms. Harry will have to settle for a humble haiku. Won’t you write her one too?
Bring the hokey back
227, full of sass
"Morning, Pearl," a gas

Why don’t we protest?
in front of Marc Cherry’s house
“Bring her to D.H.!”
Jackee! She’s such a classy lady, even when she’s in an amazing/awful movie like Ladybugs…
I’d just like to see more of her, period.
And 227 reruns, of course
Back in the eight-tays
You were Jack-kay the nose – ay
Nasel was the way
I wonder how much better last season would have been if she’d been Betty Applewhite – now that would’ve been a hoot! I’d love to see her on either, but I have a feeling she’d get more respect on “Grey’s.”
Don’t kid yourself, she is only 50 in Hollywood. Anywhere else, she was born before 1956. Give me a break…
Trampy and funny
Just the way she said “Mary”
Makes me wish for more
She’s 50 and still looks a lot better than Paris Hilton on the popwatch post below.
It also helps that she’s a likeable actor.
Jackee Harry gave me plenty to laugh about in 227, and Sister Sister. I hope she will continue to make us laugh for years to come. 50 sure looks good on her.
She guests on “Everybody Hates Chris” sometimes.
I don’t remember her ever being on Everybody Hates Chris. I need to go back and watch the reruns. I think she would be a perfect fit on DH, I hope that show improves next season and she would be a big help. I love Alfre Woodard but I don’t think comedy is her strong point (although she was funny in Down in the Delta “You need to close this place down and open up a Popeye’s!”) Let’s hope somebody hears our pleas and puts her back in prime time.
