Hipsters everywhere are seriously freaking out about the U.K. band Editors. Earlier today I checked out their official site, and, well, I’m not impressed. Do we really need another band that sounds just like Joy Division and New Order? We already have the Killers, the Bravery, and Interpol, to name just three. I’m not saying the Editors are good or bad (though I’m quite partial to the vocals of Tom Smith, who sounds like Brendan Perry from Dead Can Dance), I’m just saying "Should I be impressed?" Are you? Check out the artsy-fartsy, black-and-white video for "Munich" (or stream the whole album) and let us know.

I haven’t heard the whole CD yet, but have been dying to listen to it ever since I heard “Munich” on Sirius last year. The single is brilliant. If the album is half as good, it will be a keeper. And personally, I’d be in heaven if more new bands could be lumped into the same category as the Killers, the Bravery, and Interpol. Beats all the hip/hop and emo crap that gets most radio airplay.
I love the Killers!
You guys are not very interesting.
i think the Editors are great! I love Munich, All Sparks, Blood, and all the other songs in their album. They’re like a less happy Franz Ferdinand!! And that’s a good thing.
