Introducing the McVinci!

164224__hair_lI was thinking of getting my hair cut after work today, but instead, I’m heading to the drug store to pick up some mousse and a blow-dryer. How come? Well, because I’m planning on rocking the McVinci, the hottest look in Hollywood.

For the uninitiated, the McVinci is no mere mullet (though there’s a lot of activity up in the back) and it’s not exactly a feathered ‘do either; rather, this highly coiffed style combines the best of Linda Evans (circa Dynasty) with all the aches and breaks of Billy Ray Cyrus. The McVinci gets its name from its two most famous models: Tom Hanks (center) puts it to work in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of The Da Vinci Code, while Patrick Dempsey (right) makes it happen as Dr. McDreamy on Grey’s Anatomy. Other trendsetters include InJustice‘s Kyle MacLachlan (left) and American Idol heartthrob Ace Young. I’m hoping to follow in their footsteps — that is, if I can figure out how to achieve those sumptuous side wings.

Anyone?

SHouldn’t that be called a “VIggo”? Mortenson’s been rocking that look since the dark ages. Come to think of it, that look is real reminiscent of how they make midievil knights look in movies these days. THis look is hot? It seems older to me than platforms with the fishtanks in them, but maybe that too is making a comeback?
Gotta ask, you guys ever review this stuff with Jessica Shaw before reporting it as hot? Got to ask…

Maybe it should be called the McSandy, since Peter Gallagher has been sporting this “look” for about 3 seasons now on “The OC.”

I am sure that when i read the Da Vinci Code it said that the main character was supposed to be good looking. I was imagining more George Clooney than Tom Hanks. He looks pretty rough in that picture.

agree about peter gallagher, he started it…. LOVE Mc Dreamy

Ace does NOT rock the McVinci. He is this year’s Constantine Maroulis. Only different is Ace looks like he took a shower.

As with any style, the look only works on certain faces. Patrick Dempsey is HOTTER than HOT; Tom Hanks? Not so much….the style does him disservice.

actually, i think Tom Hanks looks nice with the hairstyle.
Kyle MacLachlan has had this same hairdo since Twin Peaks. Yawn.
Patrick Dempsey… yummo. Just goes to prove that the the nerdy guys always grow up to be HOT!!

I’ve been maintaining since last summer that Tom Hanks is miscast as Langdon (I envisioned him being younger when I read the book), and people have been asking me who I would have picked instead. Thanks – you’ve given me my answer. Patrick Dempsey would have been a better choice.

Looks like a mini-mullet to me.

The only person that looks good with this cut is Patrick, the other two just look bad. Tom should have never done this look, it’s a major turn off and I love him (even though I agree with everyone that he shouldn’t have been cast in the DaVinci movie). And, Jojo, Kyle MacLachlan had a different hairstyle on Sex and the City. It was much shorter than this!

Kyle’s hair looks the same to me. Same style, different lengths. Big deal.
Dempsey would have been a nice Robert Langdon. But Ron Howard had to stick to his golden-boy, Tom Hanks. It’ll be fine. The movie will make millions and millions of dollars and no one will ever say that Tom Hanks was mis-cast.

You people are hilarious! I didn’t even have to read the article to be entertained. Thanks for the work day laugh!

Agree with Simeon and mgf – the first thing I thought when I saw the pictures was “Holy Cow, they’ve copied Sandy Cohen!” MacLachlan, in particular, really seems to be stealing from Peter Gallagher, as his character is on Injustice IS basically Sandy Cohen working somewhere besides the O.C.

    McStupid

The Sandy Cohen and medieval knights comments are most valid. I guess all the characters with this hair style are supposed to be “knights in shing armor” of sorts on their respective shows.
