You can’t judge a book by its cover, or so goes the old saying, but clearly that idiom was written long before the age of America’s Next Top Model. In fact, UPN’s guilty-pleasure reality series (which returns March
is a closed-book experience on so many levels. And now that UPN has posted before-and-after snapshots of Cycle 6’s 13 finalists — part of something the network is billing as a season of ”transformation” — it’s time to let your inner cat out of the bag.
Based purely on first impressions, I’m picking crazy-beautiful chemist Nnenna (pictured) and striking waitress Mollie Sue for the final two, with Nnenna triumphing on account of her extra saucy moniker. As for the model least likely to make the top 12: I hate to sound ageist and all, but methinks the network made a typo on house painter Kathy’s age. She looks less like 20 and more like f-f-f-forty if you ask me.
Okay, PopWatchers, now it’s your turn to place your bets: With 20 days till we hear America’s best TV themesong — Wanna be on top! Na na na na na na… — who’s your pick to win it all?

Mollie Sue or Jade!
wow, slezak, you’re on the money with kathy looking MUCH older than 20! here’s to hoping she has a youthful personality because she sure looks way to mature for this competition.
I tend to always like the minorities a lot more, almost a bit of reverse racism. Regardless, I’m trying to be fair, but the only white girl that I would actually classify as pretty is Mollie Sue. In fact I’d go as far as saying that Brooke, Kathy and Kari are very unattractive.
I go with Danielle, Gina or Leslie.
Also, does Wendy not look like an exact duplicate of Maya Rudolph in her main photo?
I have to go with Gina for the win. The girls are lack luster this year!
Gina, though I like Mollie Sue and Nnena (though the name is too much of an affectation).
What about Sara? She’s 6-1!! I always support the most model-like girl, and not the underdog (shorty Eva) because who will realistically get more work?
Go Nnenna!!! That’s my Igbo girl, right there.
That’s right. Nnenna is not a “moniker” or an “affectation”. It’s a Nigerian name because she’s Nigerian. So, next time, try to do some research first before indirectly saying that she’s choosing a name to stand out.
Mollie Sue is gorgeous! I think she has it in the bag. But hey, that’s what I said last season with Lisa before she started f-ing left and right. Hopefully, Mollie won’t be the same way.
My international name dictionary does not list Nnena, but it does list Nneka, as an Ibo name from Nigeria.
The best theme song on television’s a 3 way tie between Rescue Me, Scrubs, and The Office.
My Trinidadian friend’s name is Nneka. It is Nigerian. Neneh Cherry’s name is the same, just the spelling is not Nigerian. Neneh is Godly. Nneneh or Nenee (pronounced) is how you would call a God-mother in Trinidad and I guess other places that boasts Yoruba heritage.
Tyra is laughing herself to the bank while the winners of her show barely deserve the august title handed to them, America’s Next Top Model. Most of these contestants would hardly be given the second look if they walked in any of NY’s top modelling agencies and to call them ANTM is hilarious.
No matter, Nnenna is still a great name for a top model.
I just hope they don’t choose another Marie Osmond look-alike (Nicole, I’m talking about you!)to win this season…
The winner could be the namesake of Giselle (B)or Daria (W) or Erin (W) but would a name make a model wanna be America’s Next Top Model? I didn’t think so too.
Nnenna and Gina definitely look like top candidates. These girls overall look more impressive then the last two seasons which makes me happy
)
I really think Nnenna and Mollie Sue are gonna be the top 2…the top 5 will consist of Nnenna, Mollie Sue, Leslie, Brooke, and Jade….

Mollie Sue has it all
Excuse me, but Nnenna is an igbo name. I know because it’s my real name too & she just happens to be my cousin. (Yeah, I lnow y’all think I’m lying but she is I’ve known her since I was a baby.) Anyway, I’m supporting her all the way. And she will become america’s next top model.
I hope they pick another person like nicole she was so pretty my family and friends loved her all the way through the show!! i would love to see jade or kari win<3
I think Gina is going to win. For one, she is beautiful. Definite model material. After watching the pre show videos, I think she seems to have the best personality. So many of those girls just seem so arrogant. Also, the judges need to pick someone with culture. Lets hope they don’t just pick some tall, blonde blue eyed girl. We need some variety! I’m rooting for Gina the whole way!
International Name Dictionary? I’m sure that’s one large heap of crap. Nnenna is a NIgerian (Igbo) name, and one of the most common at that. I think she’s beautiful in a very sophisticated, African way – hopefully she will bring some good homegrown common sense to the show!
Will you guys quit calling Nnenna’s name an affectation? It means “Mother’s father” i.e. paternal grandmother in english. It’s not a “saucy moniker”…That’s her real name..its igbo…Nigerian…its unique…its beautiful…a little bit TOO beautiful judging by the comments and responses made by a number of you guys…
Nnenna is nigerian, and im so freaking proud of her. She’s On ANTM. Oh my gosh, her manner of speech, just says Nigerian. Awesomeness. She doesn’t try too hard to impress and as yall can see, she has some brains with her beauty. Yup that’s how we do. Im nigerian too as you can prolly tell. But nnenna will win this one, it’s aboust time!!!!!!!!
GINA all the wayy!
whoop.
shes my cousin.
whoop.
Nnenna is an Igbo name, and I don’t understand why that’s an issue. Any Nigerian, especially an Igbo, recognizes that as an Igbo name, and I don’t understand why non-Nigerians are disputing that seeing as how they wouldn’t know. No international name dictionary is going to list all of our names, especially seeing as how they spelled Igbo as Ibo. Furthermore, I don’t see why Nnenna is being compared to Neneh when those are two different names and have different meanings.
Further verification? Ask any Igbo-speaking person instead of surmising. Nne means mother, and nna means father, so Nnenna does mean “father’s mother” as Lizzy said. If you want to discuss a name, discuss Yaya because to this day, I still haven’t come across any Nigerian that recognizes that as a name, especially Yoruba-speaking Nigerians.
Nnena is also a name from the Ibo tribe in Nigeria. I know that because I’m Nigerian, and very proud of how Nnena has represnted us so far. Naija for ever!!!!

nnenna is beautiful from the inside out shes the best candidate i believe to be americas next top model! i mean the other girls see it but she stays humble all the same unliike ms.jade who like jay says humility she does NOT lack haha but yea next to nnenna id have to root for mollie<3 theyre both great
KARI WILL BEAT ALL OF THIER BUTTS!
