-Which of these developing A-List movie romances sounds more promising? One, called Music and Lyrics By, would star Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore as songwriters who make beautiful music together; the other, yet untitled, is a contemporary love story that would star Tom Cruise and an unnamed partner. On the one hand, we have Barrymore paired (for the first time, I believe) with someone really out of her age range; on the other, we have the guy whose fiancee is 16 years his junior. Your call, PopWatchers.
-Newly minted Best Actor Oscar nominees Terrence Howard and David Strathairn aren’t resting on their laurels. Howard is joining Jodie Foster in the revenge thriller The Brave One; Neil Jordan may direct. Strathairn is joining Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins in the courtroom thriller Fracture.
-Director Roland Emmerich’s Day After Tomorrow follow-up: The day before yesterday, a.k.a. prehistoric adventure 10,000 B.C.
-Indie distributor Lionsgate is moving into the action-pic business, with Lucy Liu’s heist movie Devil to Pay and a thriller called Rogue, which reunites The One stars Jet Li and Jason Statham.

Didn’t Goldie Hawn and Burt Reynolds make a movie about married songwriters whose hitmaking mojo ends when they hook up? Or were they just writers? Either way, that Hugh Grant?Drew Barrymore movie doesn’t sound very original.
Love Drew. Love Hugh. Together? meh. They just don’t look like two people who would be involved let alone actually fall in love.
I can see Drew dating someone outside her age range, so it makes it easy to imagine a character of hers doing so. Drew and Hugh might be a bit weird, but it might be an opposites attract thing. I even liked the Hugh and Sandra Bullock movie, so I guess I’m a sucker when it comes to him.
PS: Don’t care about Tom Cruise. I saw “War of the Worlds,” but that was because of the movie, not him. I probably wouldn’t see a romance with him in it.
Ah! I’m glaf to see Tom is doing another movie! he is a terrific romantic lead, I loved jerry Maguire. I’d like him to do a really violent movie too, where he can kill the psy like in The Descent!
Tom Cruise in a Romantic Comedy??? No film can beat the real life romantic comedy he’s starring in. He’s now officially CREEPY onscreen and off. Cheers Tommy!
No, no, no…Tom in a romantic comedy is just WRONG!! He’s the most unlikely and unlikeable romantic lead now!!
Yuck, blech…he is creepy. Plus his “real” romantic life would make him hard to watch kissing someone…ugh…Tom’s poor acting would never make me forget about TomKat. In Tom’s case, action movies (MI3), speaks louder than words.
Didn’t Hugh Grant “retire” from acting?
Drew Barrymore bugs. Hugh Grant needs to stop making rom-coms, ‘About A Boy’ was great and ‘American Dreamz’ looks awesome; he should do more roles like those. i’ll pass on their pairing.
