For someone who lives in the huge glass house called Hollywood, Pink sure has some big stones. In the Dave Meyers-directed ”Stupid Girls” video, which is scheduled to debut today on MTV.com (we spotted it early here), Pink gets into character to lampoon Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate Olsen (pictured), Paris Hilton, breast implants, spray-on tanning, and, um, bulimia. Pink also poses as a political candidate whose televised speech is being watched by a little girl, as if to suggest that girls and women are too obsessed with looks, fame, and money and not enough on loftier pursuits like politics. Pretty funny to watch, but it’s still too easy to dismiss the clip as a slumping artist’s bid for renewed attention, since the song itself is a tired slab of warmed-over club beats.

You know what, that is one awesome video! I agree that I’m not that fond of the song, but the way she imitated Jessica Simpson was priceless. Definitely a great video from Miss Pink. I just wish she would go back to rock.
I adore this vid. I’ve talked to those who felt like it was hypocritical, since undoubtedly Pink’s looks were part of her early successes. It’s not like she rose to fame as a big thinker or anything. But I guess it’s demonstrative of just how far the celeb machine has sunk: a pop singer like Pink looks like a brainy genius compared to most of the current celebutants.
(Don’t get me wrong: I’m a huge fan of Pink’s, but she *is* a pop singer, not a nobel prize winner or molecular biologist.)
That video was fantastic!! I actually liked the song, I thought the lyrics were great. From her past work, I don’t think she was posing to get attention, I believe she really feels that way. And it was about time somebody expressed it!
i’m diggin this one…she’s just callin those stoopid girls out.but i think the song is just okay. too much of a hook. its gonna get stuck in my head and i’m gonna be a stoopid boi.
Anything that calls to the carpet these faux-celebrities, famous for doing nothing… Well, that’s okay by me.
It’s about time Pink came back, i love how she just doesn’t give a F*** about what other people think and she just says how she feels!
This is why I love pop music. Pink gets to judge the girls soaping up cars in bikinis, but still gets to show off how hot she looks soaping up a car in a bikini. Very Jewel, two years ago.
I haven’t seen the video, but saw the Olsen twin parody and got the giggles. All this time they were being called a pair of sweethearts, but the second they turned 18 one of them got real trashy in double quick time.
On the other hand, maybe a shopping cart filled with cans IS the perfect accesory for a pair of ugg boots.
Pink may be a pop singer, but she at least stands out, goes against the grain, unlike the others. Video looks great.
i like the vido becuase as far as this country goes, i’m sick of people who just stnad there and are important people. people like the olsen twins and paris hilton make me wanna wretch. pink was tol what to do on her first album, that’s why people may think she’s a fake, but after that she did it her way. no, of course, she’s no great humanitarian, but somebody has to let young girls know these “fakes” aren’t what they appear to be
I haven’t seen it, but I just love to hear myself type.
This videos great. I love the satire in it and how she makes fun of all of them, especialy Paris Hilton who became famous for staring in a porn. At least Lindsay and Jessica have an actual career. Who was she pretending to be with 50 cent?
I’m not really for making fun of people, but the way celebs like Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton act really upsets me. They have the right to act however they choose, but doubtful they would act the same when they were pre-teen. Do they realize young girls look up to them and want to act like them? Well, for Jessica and Paris young girls maybe aren’t there main fan base, so maybe they feel there don’t need to be a good role model for them. However, I remember seeing Lindsey Lohan on the cover EW naked in a Striptease-like pose, when she was 18. Teen/pre-teen girls are definitely her main base of fans, what kind of example is that?
Pink’s video is funny, yet the truth hurts a little. It’s sad that more emphasis is put on looking pretty than being smart. Jessica Simpson’s popularity settles any dispute against this. I’m glad Pink is addressing the issue of Hollywood/celebs putting so much emphasis on image. I hope that Hollywood and celebs listen. I know it is an uphill battle.
Pretty funny video. Anything that makes fun of stupid girls is fine with me.
Terrific video – I hope it gets lots of play on MTV so all the little girls who idolize Paris and Nicole and all the others will see it on a regular basis. I’m not a huge fan of the song – not much of a pop music fan. But the lyrics are great in terms of their message. Kudos Pink!
She’s back and it’s GREAT!!
I do find it an interesting topic for a video, but since when was Pink considered a true artist who did not do any of the things others like the Olsen twins have. She seems to contradict her behvavior and just does not work out.
This is definitely a slam-dunk video. It’s her best one yet, most creative. The song is sort of cliche but who cares? It’s fun! And she definitely brings that out in the video! Great storylines!
That video was almost as funny as Wedding Crashers!!!! good job Pink. I agree with everybody that it is time someone put these people in their place. Since when did you get famous for doing porn, being a drug addict, having an eating disorder, or being stupid. Great song too.
The video was funny, but it’s pretty obvious Pink is looking for controversy and attention as quickly as she can possibly get it. So as a result, she looks like somewhat of a stupid girl…a hot stupid girl… But it’s cool that she’s not afraid of the feedback she’ll get.
Let me point out that Pink showed up to the MTV Movie Awards or VMAs a few years back (can’t remember which one)with a tiny puppy under her arm. So she’s lampooning something she once celebrated.
I caught the video on YouTube, entirely by accident, and thought it was really clever. The song’s of decent quality, and amplified by how entertaining the video is.
Admittedly I don’t know so much about Pink, but to me she never seemed to be a peer to the famous dumb blondes of the pop genre. Better something like this comes from her; given her reputation for having an attitude, at least it’s somewhat believable. Jessica, Britney and Lindsay could never get away with something like this.
Love it! I always liked Pink’s voice and I think she maybe is not even saying she had never felt that way- like she needed bigger boobs or something. I thought everything she said was right on. I would like for my daughter to see this and listen to the song. It is terrifying to have a little girl these days. Good work, Pink!
Finally! I thought the world had lost its mind. Let the backlash against these stupid, vapid, boring, shallow, sheltered, clueless, idiot blonds BEGIN! Why did it take so long. I was bored with it the day it began. Props to Pink for being the first to ridicule these dunces. As I guy I have to ask, ladies, why do you idolise them… they make you all look cheap and empty-headed. Blonds should be outraged.
Finally, that throaty awesomeness is back! Love the video and the message. Even if Pink has indulged a little in the crack buffet that is pop-culture, at least she has the sense to pull herself back and start telling the truth.
We will forget most of her peer long before we’ll forget her bravery. You don’t need the biggest song to tell the truth, just the right one. Bravo, Pink!
None of these other singers she’s parodying would have the balls to make a video like this. Madonna would be proud.
It is relevant that Pinkie (now my hero) at one time had a tiny pooch under her arm herself. Pink sticks it to Hilton using the dog as a device, lampooning Hilton’s
overall image. Additionally, Pink as with all of us, is not immune to being a stupid girl (as I’m sure she is aware), and that includes by extension (get it?) us guys. The
fact of that does not exclude her forever from voicing her disapproval.
And this I just love as it is especially vacuous. “As if to suggest that women are too possessed with looks, etc. to be interested in politics.” Really dumb that. It is a
metaphor. Not that women should not be concerned about their looks and not that they should peruse politics, which as a trade itself deserves another lampooning
video by the Pink One.
The obvious statement is to not be overly obsessed with physical superficiality at the expense of a pursuit that is metaphysically more meaningful.
It would seem the author would love to stick it to Pink literally and out of sexual frustration adopts a cunty attitude.
The point that she herself by living in LA must somehow disqualifie her from critisizing the synthetic aspect of LA and our culture is assinine.
It parrallels the infantile mind set ‘America Love It or Leave It”
Equally inane is the observation that the video is singularly an attempt for attention and a ploy to reverse slumping sales. How clever, no, how cute and irrelevant is this meaningless observation.

she got them dead-on, mannn. i know about a million “stupid girls” and it’s great to see that everyone else recognizes them, too. i thought the world was taken over. apparently not. awesome.
while of course almost everything almost every celebrity does is for attention, because, let’s face it, that’s their job, i still dug it. As someone who often gives in to the pressures of being pretty, it’s kind of nice to know there’s still someone out there who recognizes that, no matter how popular it has become, eating disorders and such image problems, really shouldn’t be as acceptable and trendy as they have grown to be. and just a little side-note, pink did appear with a little dog under her arm at an awards show just like every other girl. yes, britney had a dog named bit-bit, paris had one called tinkerbell, and pink had one she named fucker. yea, she’s um, she’s definately just like all those beverly idiots.
