Reason #47 Why Martha is Required Viewing at PopWatch HQ: Sometimes the celebrity guests let slip some truly valuable knowledge — and not just about something like making trivets out of pinecones.
When Martha asked today’s guest, Lorraine Bracco, if she could score an invite this March to the splashy premiere that HBO traditionally throws for The Sopranos each season, Bracco replied that there would be no premiere this time because something really big happens in the first episode, so big that the producers decided against any advance screenings. Then Bracco caught herself and returned to the usual Sopranos cast policy of omerta.
What do you suppose will happen in that first episode next March? (In case you’ve forgotten, Season 5 ended with Tony’s reconciliation with Johnny Sack interrupted by a federal bust that saw Johnny taken into custody and Tony fleeing into the woods. Read our recap of that episode here.) Will the season open with Meadow’s wedding? Or will someone get whacked? And if so, who? Speculate away, PopWatchers!

It’ll be the death of another major character. The show is all about the decline and fall of this family, and Adriana just got whacked to end season 5. My guess is that Paulie Walnuts or Chris Multesante will be swimming with the fishes.
The Sopranos. Yawn. One of the most over-rated shows on television.
I think that Meadow’s soon-to-be husband is in trouble. I don’t feel like Tony’s guy, the apparently gay one, is going to forget what happened in that parking lot. And Meadow’s fiance (can’t remember his name, sorry.) definitely asked her to marry him out of fear. The poor kid. I don’t think he’s going to meet a nice end. As for everyone else? Carmella’s going to join “the family” in a bigger way, I’ll bet. Chris and Pauly’s problems with each other are only going to escalate. And Tony’s going to retreat from things a little bit, due to a new batch of panic attacks. Love this show. Can’t wait till March!

If it’s really big, someone’s going to die. I’m betting it’s somebody in Tony’s immediate family. Odds on Meadow or Carmella.
My guess (based on absolutely nothing) is that Tony will be arrested.
Meadow will join the family biz. God knows, AJ’s too fragile.

My guess: Tony gets shot (but doesn’t die).
Gotta say one thing. I’m surprised there are so few comments on this show. Back in it’s heyday, Sopranos posts would get 50 comments. Perhaps the fan base has begun to shrink after such a long hiatus?

Who really cares anymore. The show has been off the air for so long that I do not remember what was going on. There are great shows on that have not left their fams waiting years for the next season. Lost, House, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives are very well written shows and have not stuck it to their fans.
I can’t guess what it will be. But boy am I excited!!!
My guess is Uncle Junior will die, causing a bump for Tony to become active boss, and competition between Chris and Silvio on becoming the under boss.
I’m guessing Uncle Junior dies….It’s great when the Sopranos goes away then your forced to watch other things. Then when it comes back on you realize why it’s so great and it has no rivals since Deadwood’s 2nd season was a dud. Desperate Housewives 2nd season is pretty darn boring and i’m really tired of 20 law and orders and the 20 csi’s!!!

As for possible first episode, how about this…. Vito is worried about his gay secret getting out, so he whacks Meadow’s fiance, -and- Meadow too because she sees it happen…
That would be a massive punch to start series 6.

I’ve also heard a rumor Tony will get a new bodyguard so that would go along with an assassination attempt and/or Junior dying causing a bump up.
While we’re at it, has anyone heard about any new actors/characters joining the show?

Adrianna isn’t really dead (think about it, in every violent Soprano scene, murder is graphic. We never witnessed Adrianna being murdered per se, we only heard two gun shots. Adrianna may be safely hidden and shots fired to make believe her death. Adrianna may make a strange come back.She may come back to kill that bitch FBI agent (a stretch but possible)
Silvio may compete with Christopher for Tony’s slot(if Tony is bumped up)
There may be old grievances with NY because of killing his cousin and Johnny may not have liked the way it was handled and there may be very dirty payback
Meadow’s boyfriend gets raped by the big guy in a violent way(BEFORE THE MARRIAGE)
Meadow WILL marry him and may find out about the rape (after the marriage) and Meadow will have Vito killed
The family will fall in a horrid way; however, the Sopranos may attempt another comeback after season six (maybe several years from now a spin off focusing on the roots of Meadow and AJ taking over the Business with Meadow being their first lady boss for Tony)The Sopranos final episode for the sixth season may be left open ended for a possible spin off on the Soprano Children (Hey Hollywood is definately known for these stunts)
Tony’s sister Janice may be killed with Carmella on that boat or may help to run the future family business
One of The FBI main character(female) will definately be killed
AJ will murder someone (for the first time)
Chistopher may take out Silvio as well because of the Adrianna thing but we later find out that Silvio hasn’t murdered Adrianna and better yet Adrianna kills Christopher.Silvio may have old girl in hiding because Tony wanted to bang her at one point and so he may have had a soft spot for Adrianna.Another thing;Remember, Tony does not kill women because of having a duaghter and how upset he was when Joe Pantioliano’s character murdered the stripper in episode 3.
