-James Frey’s A Million Little Pieces (left) surged to No. 1 on Amazon.com’s best seller list a day after being selected as Oprah’s Book Club’s 54th selection on Thursday. Not only that, the book’s publisher estimates Pieces sold some 85,000 copies at all venues between Sept. 22 and Sept. 25.
-Soon, Oprah’s reach will be felt on the Great White Way, as well. She’s signed on as a producer for the Broadway musical version of Alice Walker’s acclaimed novel The Color Purple. ”To present this Broadway production is a dream come true and a full-circle moment for me,” Oprah told the Associated Press.
