Put down your Fiona Apple bootleg and head directly to her official website. It seems the reclusive songwriter — who has stayed mum about her failure to release her third disc, Extraordinary Machine, even as fans passed around bootleg copies and protested her Epic label demanding the disc’s release — wasn’t being held a creative captor.
Turns out she simply wasn’t satisfied with her work, and asked producer Mike Elizondo to help her retool nine of the tracks, plus add a new one. ”There’s definitely some things that are far-out experiments and things that turned out really exciting,” he tells Billboard. Two tracks – ”O, Sailor” and ”Parting Gift” – are available on her site. Ch-ch-check ‘em out as a preview to Machine‘s Oct. 4 release date.

I’m glad she’s back.
I’d rather she disappear again. She’s so arrogant!
I have missed Fiona Apple. I still regularly listen to her first two CDs. I can’t wait for her new CD.
that one speech was a looong time ago; I think she’s grown up by now.
