Remember The Cure’s Wish tour back in the summer of 1992? The opening band, Cranes, featuredthe childlike vocals of Alison Shaw, intensely sparse drumming, and dreamy acousticguitars. Well, they’re still around, they’re still touring with the Cure, and they have a new album dripping with elegant keyboard lines, Particles andWaves.     I have loved this band since they took flight on WINGS OF JOY. They are gorgeously hypnotic and beautifully melancholic. Despair, loneliness and sadness has never sounded this good. I look forward to the new album!
